From my first time seeing her squad to help start the Circuit up, I definitely see improvement but here are some of the standouts from Sunday
Danae Crosby-5’7 PG (Braswell HS) Team Stay Ready 2023
Crosby showed her explosiveness on both ends, hey I ranked her as a freshman because I just knew and now you know too because that first step ain’t nothing nice, but neither is her pull-up jumper which was as impressive as her acrobatic finishes yet the heat she showed on defense, on the ball, the trap, playing the passing lane or just going all out and diving on the floor sent several messages
Taylor Wilson-5’9 SG (Copperas Cove HS) Team Stay Ready 2023
Wilson scored well off the dribble as well as on putbacks, yes she rebounds on both ends yet her power when attacking and her strength after contact just left me speechless, yet she’s also athletic enough to defend both inside and outside the paint
Josalyn Byrom-5’6 SG (Kellyville HS) Oklahoma Swift 2023
Byrom is so smooth and steady and it was a toss-up on this talented squad until she threw a no-look bounce pass, on the money, from half-court for an assist, things like that get my adrenaline going because I don’t see it often enough she’s always poised and under control and understands how to get hers in the flow
China Hermanson-5’4 PG (Evansville HS) Foundation Athletics 2024
Hermanson said “hold on wait a minute” and threw countless no-looks on the money for assists yet one play, in particular, was when she whispered to her teammate on the sideline where to go and as Hermanson was dribbling away from the play, she hit that same teammate where she told her to be and teammate drops a 3. I always say #sizedontmatter when you can play, her court vision, ball-handling, and scoring both off the dribble and with the jumper had me smiling
Miracle Armstrong-5’7 CG Illinois Phoenix 2024
Miracle had me thinking “it’s a Miracle” when she told me she watched my daughter help lead her team to the National Championship in 2011. I said “you were a baby” and she responded “yeah but I’ve been watching since I was 5” and evidently absorbing because she has a very nice first step, good body control to finish after contact plus she can drop the jumper yet she also plays solid defense, on the ball, baseline to baseline
Madelyn Moran-5’10 PF/C (Braswell HS) Team Stay Ready 2024
Moran caught my eye a while back, something about REDHEADS dropping shots adds to the fire yet she’s creating her shot even better, set the defender up, and dropped a legitimate bank shot with a hand in her face but she also rebounded strongly, on both ends and played solid defense, oh yeah, diving on the floor was a nice touch
Selin Goekce-5’5 PG (Lake Forest Academy) Full Package 2024 NEON
Goecke was one of the listed players playing against teams in the Dynasty Region yet when you can create your shot and drop the long-range like that, I’m writing but she also understands how to mix it up, midrange is nice, so is “off the dribble” but peep this, she also saw the floor and made some tough passes look easy
