Alexander is that good.
Really.
Playing on the Thunder’s top team, she’s in her comfort zone. No request is too big for her. She’s making everything happen on the hardwood. She’s composed and always looking to make a play. Even if she isn’t putting points on the board, she’ll find a teammate who can.
Kymora Johnson, WV Thunder 2023, CG, 5-8 – Kymora Johnson combines a smooth attacking offensive style with the range of a shooting guard. She uses her skills to create and cause havoc and then takes advantage. Any coach looking for a big-time offensive player should be in the Kymora Johnson sweepstakes.
Audrey Biggs, WV Thunder 2024 UAA, F, 6-0 – Biggs looks comfortable anywhere on the floor. Right at home, in fact. No matter what position she’s asked to guard, or where she’s asked to score, she can do it. Combine all of it with her athleticism, fiery attitude, and a willingness to play defense, and college coaches should be jumping at the chance to ink this Thunder and Boyd County standout.
Sarah Baker, WV Thunder 2024 UA, C, 6-2 – Coaches wanting a confident and comfortable player in the post should look at Baker. She carries herself well on both ends of the floor. If she needs to assert herself on the defensive end to get the point across, that’s what she’ll do. She rebounds, scores, is an upbeat player and coaches won’t be disappointed with her effort on the court.
Shaelyn Steele, WV Thunder 2024 UA, G, 5-6 – Coaches interested in a fearless attacker on offense and a strong defender should take a look at Steele. She blends the two aspects of her game into a seamless switch she can flip whenever need be. And if that isn’t enough, she can cause more problems by getting defenders in foul trouble or finding her teammates for open shots.
Sydney Mobley, WV Thunder 2027, F, 6-2 – Sydney Mobley may be in seventh grade, but Ohio State extending her an NCAA Division offer isn’t crazy. Standing 6-foot-2 inches tall, she’s only going to keep being a problem as she grows, and her game matures. She already moves well, can run a fast break, has good feet, and is just a good player all around. She scores at all 3 levels and, as if that wasn’t enough, has a cousin at Louisville, Alexia Mobley, whom she can practice against in the hopes of developing more weapons.
Jeriyah Pryor, WV Thunder, 2027, G, 5-5 – Jeriyah Pryor makes the point guard position look easy. Really easy. It’s always been that way with her, and it’s going to keep being that way as she plays on the WV Thunder’s national championship-winning group. Not only does she have teammates capable of turning her passes into points, but they also already understand how she gets her points. By using a quick and sneaky, but high-IQ approach, Pryor regularly finds and finishes at the rim.
Alexis Bordas, WV Thunder 2025, G, 5-8 – Alexis Bordas is a sharpshooter who plays defense and expertly runs a fast break. As long as she’s in the gym, she’s in range. Helping her even more in the scoring column? Her various shots feature, but aren’t limited to, the pop-up, pop-out off screens, and a step-back jump. She also plays up in your face defense.
Amara Jackson, WV Thunder Gold 16U, PF, 5-11 – Amara Jackson uses a high-IQ and aggressive approach on the court to maximize results and cause problems for opposing players. Whether she’s using her long limbs to deflect passes or taking huge steps and finishing at the rim, she’s trouble for players not on her level or understanding of the game of basketball.
Zaniah Zellous, WV Thunder 2025, PF, 6-1 – Don’t let Zaniah Zellous’ slim build fool you, she’s a kid you have to see in person to believe. She uses her height and her athleticism in perfect unison. Throw her a pass on the block, or let her run the fast break, nothing affects how she approaches the game. With off-the-charts athleticism and a strong build, she projects as an NCAA Division I basketball player.
