This could be in the form of ranking number, or just in general, even if there may not have been much movement in their ranking. Let’s take a look at some players from the class of 2024 that saw their stock rise with the rankings update.
Katelyn Baney Katelyn Baney 6'2" | PF Paw Paw | 2024 State MI (PF, Paw Paw)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #16
Baney was flat out dominant for most of the season, putting up some incredibly impressive numbers. We have her listed as a power forward, but she continues to prove that she can play anywhere on the court. Baney has range beyond the 3 point line and is an underrated passer from the high post and in transition. She’s a physical rebounder that looks for a body to box out off the shot.
Mia McLaughlin Mia McLaughlin 5'9" | SG Frankenmuth | 2024 State MI (PG, Frankenmuth)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #33
McLaughlin’s game continues to hit new levels as time goes by. She’s become an elite playmaker in the class of 2024 with her ability to find and deliver the ball to teammates in scoring positions as well as her ability to shoot from multiple spots on the floor. McLaughlin has become very dangerous when leading with the ball in transition.
Samone Andrews Samone Andrews 5'8" | PG Macomb Dakota | 2024 State MI (PG, Macomb Dakota)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #41
Andrews has really stepped her game up. She’s matured as a player and really began to let her game define itself. Andrews can play around the defender and find her teammates in small spaces. Her perimeter scoring might be her biggest improvement. Andrews has demonstrated the ability to set the tone of games with her jumper.
Ryan Moorer Ryan Moorer 5'9" | SG Madison Heights Bishop Foley | 2024 State MI (SG, Bishop Foley)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #43
Moorer has ridiculous upside as a prospect. She has excellent positional size and strength, allowing her to match up at multiple positions and take advantage of mismatches. Moorer is a big threat offensively playing off the ball on the wing. She does a great job of finding open spots and lanes to the rim and setting herself up for success on the offensive end.
Madison Morson Madison Morson 5'8" | SG Plymouth Salem | 2024 State MI (SG, Plymouth Salem)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #51
Morson is a smooth athlete that can make plays when her team needs them. If her team needs a bucket, she can get in an isolation set and beat the defense with an athletic finish or a tough to defend pull up jumper. Morson will be a player to watch, as her rise up the rankings could be just beginning.
