Continue ReadingI can’t tell you how many players I knew nothing about have had a chance to not only be seen by me and get on the map yet several have been added to the PGH Texas Top 100 in various classes and to be honest with you seeing is believing, at least for me because everyone doesn’t see things the same way, there’s nothing wrong with that yet I actually know what I’m looking at and I’ve already added some names to my next update from the ELITE DIVISION so here we go
Jolie Aguirre- (Buda Johnson HS) CTX Lady Knights [2023]
Aguirre was solid at creating her shot, under pressure yet also handling the ball the same way, under pressure. She has the good court vision and hits teammates on the money yet back to creating her shot, that was also money as she showed she could drop the jumper as well as score off the dribble
Debi Hernandez-5’5 SG (Lee HS) San Antonio Islanders [2024]
Hernandez does something I love to see and that’s “finds ways to put the ball into the basket” and I’m not just talking about scoring, yeah she can drop the mid to long-range as well as attack from outside, with either hand and finish, with either hand, I’m talking after contact yet she also understands something else, how to create contact and her dropping over 30 wasn’t nothing new for me because she understands how and when to take over yet she also sets her teammates up nicely for gimmes
Heavyn Carter Heavyn Carter 5'4" | PG Smithson Valley | 2024 TX -5’4 CG (Smithson Valley HS) SA Infinity Green [2024]
Carter showed me “Carter’s Country” on opening day as her explosiveness off the dribble initially caught my eyes from across the court, I enjoyed watching her attacks and finish after the lick. She’s strong and can be overpowering on both ends but her jumper was really nice, and her release was quick and fluid but her energy just grabbed me because she also falls into one of those “never takes a play off” type of player
Grace Erbstoesser-5’10 SF (Boerne Champion HS) Borene Extreme [2025]
Erbstoesser wasn’t listed so I’m probably spelling her last name wrong and although I don’t like doing do-overs unless it’s my fault and it usually is with the typos, I always say “did I get the game right” and this young lady was a total #THROWBACK from boxing or blocking out, to following her shot, to playing the passing lane, diving on the floor, she just left me speechless and hopefully I get to see her again because she definitely is in the running for Top 100 yet hold on, wait a minute, yall thought I was finished. She has UPS, I left BATTLES off of the throwback, yeah she goes after everything but her pull-up jumper, in the set which she creates as well in transition with the “stop and pop ” definitely was nice
Jena Moore-5’6 CG ( SA Johnson HS) Players First [2025]
Moore didn’t show me less as I was in a daze observing not only her athleticism and applying heat on defense, yeah she played the passing lane but she also scored off the dribble and finished using some pretty impressive body control. Acrobatic finishes get my adrenaline going, wait I wrote “long and athletic” so that is still the base and I also wrote pull-up and that too was impressive
