The<strong> PGH Music City Showdown</strong> took place at the TOA Sports Performance complex in Knoxville TN on Saturday/Sunday. This tournament is part of the <strong>Triumph Region</strong> which encompasses the Southeast as one of four regions in the <strong>PGH Circuit</strong>. The weekend featured a lot of talent in the 16U division. Here is who was selected by our scouts as the 16U Second Team All-Tournament:
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-424631 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1260-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="424598" first="Niyah" last="Stone"]</strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> - Team Passion - 2025</span></span>
Niyah is a long, athletic forward from the Panhandle of Florida that has a great frame and size for only being a Freshman. She uses her frame to create space inside and can play physical down low. Her shot blocking ability and strength make her a force in the paint. Major upside with this young prospect!
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-424632 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1262-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="423944" first="Asia" last="Sawyers"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- Tennessee Sol Black - 2024</span></span>
Asia is smooth as butter with the ball in her hands. She has really good handles and can drive by anyone to get to the rim. Her pull-up and mid-range jumper is nasty as she can elevate above her defender. I really liked her energy when crashing the boards as she looked a step quicker than everyone on the floor.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-424633 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1261-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="189" height="189" />Ijeoma Ozurumba </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- North Metro Elite - 2024</span></span>
Ijeoma already has a college frame and good size as a Sophomore. She’s strong, athletic, and uses her hips and her body to get to the bucket or box out her opponents. Ijeoma owned the glass, blocked shots, and finished strong at the rim. I really like the potential of this NME Sophomore.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-424636 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1259-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="221665" first="Adyson" last="Adams"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- Team Passion - 2025</span></span>
Adyson can shoot it and score from anywhere and everywhere. In addition to her shooting, she sees the floor and moves well without the ball. She’s a heady player that also uses her body and dribble to get to the rim when someone closes out on her shot too hard. This was my first time seeing her, and I really liked how she ran the floor and pushed it in transition.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-422543 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/PGH-TP-Marley-Spiers-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />Marley Spiers</strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> - TN SoL United - 2027 </span></span>
Marley has to be one of the best 2027 prospects in Tennessee. She won a HS State Title this year and has elite length at size, especially for her age. You can tell she works on her post moves and footwork, and she rebounds it well. Her game is still a bit raw which is expected as a 7th grader, but if she continues to develop and get a step quicker - she will be an easy offer for a ton of D1 coaches.
