Several more stories will be coming out over the next few days, but tonight I will look at a few of the players who stood out on Day 1.
Again, more players from today will be listed in my Top point guard story, my all-tournament team and other stories coming soon, and each article will have different kids featured.
Jim’s Day 1 Standouts
Vana Bilic, Beyond Ball 2025 24K
I really loved the way she was able to play through contact from the guard spot, she is such a strong player. Able to play the ball aggressively and plays downhill well. She has very good court vision, able to get her teammates involved. A very active player with a high motor. Can handle the ball and plays with good composure. (pictured left)
Lalie Scaccio, Air Minnesota 2026
Lalie is a player who showed a strong game in the paint with good strong power moves to the rim, and able to finish She is a vocal player, a good leader. Rebounds the ball well, she is athletic and agile. Can finish with either hand and able to defend well. Her game will just continue to improve as she gains more experience and confidence,
Jordyn Misner, Missouri Legacy 2026
Another young standout with a good future ahead of her. She possesses a very good first step to the rim, quick enough to get by her defender. She also has good court sense for such a young player. She has a good all-around game, solid handles and can defend. (pictured left)
Avery Marchino, Oklahoma Huskies 2024
Avery (featured photo above) loves to make the big plays, and showed she can do so in a variety of ways. First of all she has good range and is not afraid to let it fly from deep. She is also strong at the rim, able to finish in transition. She has good handles and can create with the ball, and can push tempo. Good footwork, and just looks to make plays.
Zoe Allen, 212 Basketball Academy 2026
With her long wingspan, Zoe can cause a lot of problems on the defensive side of the ball. She is a player who is strong at the rim and moves well in the offense to be productive. She anticipates well on defense, able to read and react with good hands and quickness.
Kennedy Skaggs, 212 Basketball Academy 2026
Like Zoe, this young baller has a solid future in the game with continued hard work and skill development. One thing she showed me in her game I watched is you better never leave her open.. and I mean never. She opened the game with two long threes from the corner. She showed good quickness and was able to rebound well defensively.
