Kiara Smith Kiara Smith 5'9" | CG Douglass | 2024 State OK – 5’8 PG (Harding Prep OK) Team Trae Young 2023
Smith shows the game has and always will start at the 1. I have been often corrected that it starts at the tip, yet here’s a TIP, I hate being corrected, that’s a character flaw yet there are no flaws in her game because she goes hard on both ends, that’s a trend throughout this group I’m opening with her “on the ball defense” that helps to create turnovers however back to running 1, she sees the floor very well, passes are crisp and on the money plus she has a nice jumper and can score off the dribble
Zya Vann Zya Vann 5'9" | PG Bethany | 2024 State OK – Lady Jets 2023 3SSB OK
Vann is yet another talented sister I have been watching since my hair was all black, well most of it and as the VANN continues to load up and speaking of UPS, she delivers by elevating off the floor to not only finish acrobatically but rebound over taller players yet her athleticism plays a part in so many things, like that “on the ball defense” I speak about frequently. Yeah, she plays the passing lane and her steals usually lead to scoring opportunities because of her ball-handling, speed, and court vision. The jumper is real, can’t leave that out
Jasmine Gibson- Lady Jets 2024 3SSB
Gibson played in her first event since coming back from a stress fracture and FRACTURE is the right word because “she broke the defense down” with ease. I can’t overemphasize her “going hard” she didn’t hesitate, she just immediately brought it, and watching her explosive first step to attack and finish, yeah I’m talking about after contact, had me smiling but so did her rebounding, on both ends of the floor. Her timing was nice to block, alter and (or) deflect yet she still does what caught my eye a couple of seasons ago and that’s “plays the passing lane” very well
DaNae Crosby DaNae Crosby 5'6" | PG Braswell | 2024 State TX -5’6 CG (Braswell HS) Team Stay Ready 2023 [2024]
Crosby closes out part 1 as she doesn’t know any other way to play than “never take a play-off” and when you bring as much heat as she does on the defense, that trickles over to her teammates and that simple igniting the spark creates some problems for the opposing squad yet her countless “no-looks” on the money was “next-level ready” and I’m talking the level after college because those blistering passes in traffic are legit, so is her scoring off the dribble and finishing after the lick, let me also add the mid to long-range needs to be respected
