Team Takeover Cinco De Mayo: Under the Radar Prospects

Great day of basketball on day one at the Team Takeover Cinco De Mayo tournament.  There were top programs from the east coast with plenty of talented players across all grade levels in every gym.  Read on for some prospects that are playing some good basketball before the next live period. [player_tooltip player_id="361047" first="Rayquel" last="Allen"]-2024-FBC Havoc Rayquel plays with good pace and control.  She has a quick first step that gets her past defender, nice change of speed and attacks hard downhill.  She was able to get into the paint and finish around the basket.  Her shot has improved, she was able to knock down the corner three and midrange jumper.  Rayquel is an aggressive on ball defender who uses her quickness to create turnovers for her team. [player_tooltip player_id="376358" first="Lanijah" last="Williams"]-2024-Cap City Ballerz Quick lead guard who uses her speed and handles to blow by defenders, gets into the paint where she made the right decisions to score or create an opportunity for her teammate.  She is an aggressive on ball defender with quick hands and her defensive pressure created problems for opposing guards which she turned into fast break buckets for her team. <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/6C9CA216-6BD1-49B2-BFDB-53D1E9F59E28-scaled-crop-1211x796-1651973815.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-425855" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/6C9CA216-6BD1-49B2-BFDB-53D1E9F59E28-scaled-crop-1211x796-1651973815-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> Aryss Macktoon-2023- Team Thrill Aryss was one of the most athletic kids in the gym, non-stop energy and bouncy.  She is dangerous in the open court, utilizing her speed to blow by defenders and get to the basket.  Strong rebounding guard on both sides of the ball. Great length at 5’10, disruptive defensively and does a nice job reading passing lanes for steals.  She was effective on or off the ball and led her team to a come from behind victory with a buzzer beater against Team Loaded. [player_tooltip player_id="238826" first="Madisyn" last="Moore-Nicholson"]-2024-Germantown Lady Panthers Strong body, 5’8 combo guard with good court vision and handles.  Broke down defenders to create scoring opportunities for herself and teammates.  Uses her strong frame to create space and finished through contact at the rim.  She looked comfortable at the lead guard position or playing off the ball. <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/AC58C3F1-A727-4D50-AC7E-F4269A1553FD-scaled-crop-1211x796-1651973918.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-425857" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/AC58C3F1-A727-4D50-AC7E-F4269A1553FD-scaled-crop-1211x796-1651973918-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> [player_tooltip player_id="312075" first="Sabrina" last="Lewis"]-2023-Team Loaded Sabrina is a scorer, she plays with pace and does a great job of creating space off the ball fake and getting to the rim where she finished over height.  She is crafty with the ball, utilizing an array of offensive moves to get her shot off over taller defenders and has a nice touch on her mid-range shot. Morgan Boyd-2024-Cap City Ballerz Long, athletic at 5’10.  She is dangerous in the open floor with long strides and push cross that gets her past defenders.  She uses her dribble and understands spacing, gets into the paint and draws fouls.  She did a nice job defensively staying between the ball and the basket, her length was disruptive and she gets her hands on a lot of balls.  Good rebounder who pushes the ball ahead on the break. [player_tooltip player_id="325340" first="Taylor" last="Addison"]-2023-Team Thrill Steady floor general who is equally effective off the ball.  She plays level headed, can knock down three 3ptr and has a nice pull-up jumper. Taylor handles the ball confidently, knows when to shoot and when to pass to a cutting teammate or making simple post entry passes.
