Class B Region 5 Top Returners for Next Year

Class B Region 5 has some of the best of the best talent returning for next year. 3 teams this past year that all had over 20 wins and a hungry talented Shiloh Christian team that could make another run at state. <span class="pn-player-link"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="100449" first="Hailey" last="Quam"] </span></span> - Shiloh Christian - (6’0/PF/2023) - Quam an athletic forward who received all-state first-team awards this past season. She’s a versatile scorer that can defend the ball. She turns a lot of loose balls or quick steals into points quickly for the Skyhawks. In my opinion, she’s a definite Division 2 player or high-level NAIA. She can get the job done on both ends of the court and has a motor to her. She’s strong in the post and has quick enough feet to stick with guards. She uses her size and length so well. If you haven’t already watched Shiloh Christian then you are in for a real treat. <span class="pn-player-link"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="211396" first="Karli" last="Klein"]</span></span> – Garrison - (5’11/PF/2023) – Karli is an explosive ball of energy. She moves well for 5’11, and 6’ft possibly with the right shoes on. She’s quick and strong. A great combination to have for a forward that could shift to the wing spot. She’s got a nice-looking jumper that needs a touch of improvement but has a good feel for the game. She’s a player that isn’t going to hurt you on defense and makes those hustle plays when you need it the most. <span class="pn-player-link"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="249942" first="Mia" last="Gehring"]</span></span> – Garrison - (5’6/SG/2023) – Mia is a great on-ball defender. She can get the score moving as well as she’s a solid 3-point shooter. She moves well enough without the ball that she’s not cluttering traffic offensively. Gehring is another hustle player that just gets after the ball. <span class="pn-player-link"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="243801" first="Anna" last="Schatz"]</span></span> – Grant County – (5’10/SF/2023) – Schatz has a lot of potential. She can shoot and rip to the basket with a quick first step. She’s fluent offensively knowing when and where to cut and make moves. Anna is a solid defender and has a nice base for cutting off drives to the hoop. With an added arsenal of post moves and some added strength from the weight room, Schatz could be a possible sleeper that many don’t know about. <strong><span class="pn-player-link"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="242581" first="Aliya" last="Schock"]</span></span></strong> – Shiloh Christian – (5’9/SG/2023) – Schock is a pest. She’s nothing but trouble for offensive players and often finds herself guarding the other team’s best scorer or player. She’s got quick feet and great lower body strength for cutting off baseline drives. She’s excellent in the trapping position and plays such great help-side defense. She can score, drive and get the job done offensively as well. Schock is a player that only adds value to the team she plays for.
