Many won’t comprehend what I’m saying and never will yet I try to do things a certain way, I’m actually in this for the kids so hopefully the names are correct, if not, the evals are definitely on point
The 7th Grade Division was completed on Saturday, I had a chance to catch some “up and comers” so here you go, Lady Hustle went undefeated (3-0) by the way
Diane Lopez (Lions Life)
Lopez grabbed the rebound and went coast to coast so many times that I stopped counting yet you can also count on her attacking the rim in the half-court set. She also rebounded on the offensive end and used her length and athleticism well
Ziona Fallon (Lions Life)
Fallon was strong in the interior, well strong period as she battled for everything off the rim as well as on the floor but her diving for loose balls gets the #THROWBACK hashtag. The jumper is nice, so was seeing her play the passing lane
Aliana Polley (SATX Aces)
Polley scored off the dribble numerous times and watching her set the defender up to do so was impressive as she’s smooth and under control. She’s also long and athletic, that is the base and her finishes included “after contact”
Alaya Polley (SATX Aces)
Polley was solid on defense, on the ball, baseline to baseline and she played the passing lane. She also got after on the inside as she rebounded against taller players. Scored both off the dribble and facing the basket
Yannah Lee (SATX Aces)
Lee has a nice frame yet what’s even nicer is that she understands how to use it. Good “hands and footwork” were hey to her finishing around the basket, yes after the lick plus she ran the floor, on both ends and rebounded, on both ends
Yuri Duran (Lady Hustle)
Duran is “long and athletic” which is what I call “the base”. She attacks the basket strongly off the dribble and finishes using good body control. She also showed the pull-up jumper in transition and played the passing lane. Solid defender, good upside
Bella Rivera (Lady Hustle)
Rivera showed solid court vision and her “threading the needle” to make tough passes look easy was a big plus, so was her handling the ball under pressure. Her first step is deceptive, she got the defender to lean which gave her options
Ari Salazar (Lady Hustle)
Salazar is heady, she plays within herself and did a good job of recognizing the switch, and was vocal on the court. She also handled the ball well under pressure in the open court and scored off the dribble
Honorable Mention
Cat Bernal (Lady Hustle)
Gizelle Hernandez (Lady Hustle)
Eva Perales (Lady Hustle)
Brae Delagarza (Lady Hustle)
Irelie Martinez (Lady Hustle)
