Aniya is an absolute baller. She is one of my favorite players to watch on the court. She had a phenomenal summer with Team Stuck 360. She has a very controlled dribble, which helps her get by defenders playing tight defense. She has shifty handles that also stand out to me. She can get to the rim with ease but also shoot lights out from deep. Honestly, her deep shot is most impressive to me out of all her assets in her game (and there’s a lot). She can shoot off the catch, off the dribble, coming off screens, anything. Defensively she plays very quick. She has great hands and feet that are always moving. She anticipates passes really well too. Her on ball defense is one of the best in the 2024 class. Her junior year will be a big one next season with Lynnwood HS.
Devin Coppinger Devin Coppinger 5'10" | CG Nooksack Valley | 2024 State WA – Nooksack Valley HS
With confidence, I can say that Coppinger is one of the top 2024 players in the NWC and the state. She’s destined for another MVP within the NWC conference. She has excellent ball handling and an absolute deadly crossover. She uses her crossover to her advantage, by making space to hit the midrange shot or drive right by her defenders. She’s a great finisher at the rim, and even better in the transition game. Her ability to stop on a dime off the dribble could be the best in the state. Her outside shot is very effective as she consistently can drain the shot with a hand in her face, or if it’s open. She can score at all 3 levels at the highest of levels in the state, after averaging 21 points per game last year as a sophomore, she’s destined for another big junior year. She’s one of the players I’d watch out for to win the NWC MVP, like she did last season.
Nisa Ellis Nisa Ellis 6'0" | PF Lake Stevens | 2024 State WA – Lake Stevens HS
Nisa is a force to be reckoned with. She is one of the most well-rounded players in the 2024 class. Ellis can post up anyone down low and get a bucket, purely because of her post moves. She is nearly unstoppable down low, being able to get by defenders with a variety of moves. Her rebounding is outstanding too, being able to read the ball coming off the rim with ease. The soon to-be junior has an excellent shooting stroke. She can hit the mid-range jumper all day long if the opposing team gives it to her. She’s not afraid to shoot it from deep as well. Her confidence is some of the best I’ve seen and for good reason. She’s had a fantastic summer playing for TeamStuck360 along with some great talent that only helped her improve her game more. She’s poised for a big, big season next year with Lake Stevens. I’m excited to watch her future, the sky is the limit for Nisa.
Ava Bright Ava Bright 5'10" | SG White River | 2024 State WA – White River HS
Ava has very high basketball IQ. I can tell she loves the game and knows the game very well when I watch her highlights. She can shoot the ball well and is very solid down low. One thing that stands out to me is her ability to always be moving and trying to get open. She is always one step ahead looking for the weak spots in the defense and does a great job at exposing them. Her ability to post up taller defenders is impressive as her footwork is incredible. She has many different moves down low under her belt, so you never know what’s coming next from her. Her finishing ability is strong too, she has a soft touch at the rim if needed. If her defenders decide to sag off of her and leave her open, she will make them pay by easily draining the long range or mid-range shot. She was second team all league last season (SPSL 2A) and is poised to make the first team this year. If you ask me, she may be contending for the league MVP next year.
