Continue ReadingLaylah showed toughness on both ends of the floor. She consistently grabbed rebounds on both the offensive and defensive end. She showed vision on the offensive end where her aggressive energy allowed her to penetrate the lane. She had no hesitation to take the coast to coast opportunity.
Highlights
Mauriyah is fast in transition. She wowed the gym taking it to coast to coast at one point getting a tough layup to go around a very good rim protector in little space. She showed a complete game and was especially impressive on the defensive side of the ball where she picked up a steal each time she checked in.
Shelby handled the ball well in traffic and under pressure. She has good acceleration with the ball in her hands and used her stop and go dribble to keep defenders guessing. She has a great motor and a “next play” mentality. She intercepted several passes on the defensive end after bating players, using her quickness to react and cover ground quickly.
Highlights
Alexis played with a lot of energy on both ends. She caught a lot of players by surprise with her second effort. She is physical on the interior when battling for rebounds. She showed some skill and patience when using her stride stops to allow defenders to fly by on the break.
Kaytlin is very fast in the open court and understands the benefit of simply pushing the ball with speed while probing for play-making opportunities. She always has her head up and is a very unselfish passer.
Madison played with a lot of determination and it stood out. Down by a significant margin, she never let the score determine how she played. She is sneaky on the defensive side and stripped unsuspecting ball-handlers on multiple transition opportunities. Each time she immediately looked for a way to get the ball in the basket. She scored at the rim a coupe of times and knocked down the three. She moved very well on defense as well.
Kailyn made it look easy at times. She is quick in the open court which she showcased many times after playing some of the best on ball defense at the showcase. No gimmicks as she used her timing and quick hands to deflect and still passes.
Deyla seemed to be a one woman break stopper. She forced turnovers repeatedly through great ball pressure. As the ball-handler she got around and by anyone in front of her used very shifty ball-handling and quickness.
Morgan grabs the eye as soon as she steps on the court. She has good size at the guard position. At points in the game I watch her she saw double teams and trap attempts that were effective at getting the ball out of her hands but the passes she made to open teammates lead to very easy scoring opportunities. Even under pressure she has great awareness and vision.. She was able to use her dribble to extend the play and find open teammates.
