SVL Shooters that will Torch Nets in 2023

The league is one of the top conferences in the state and is home to a ton of dangerous scorers. Here are six kids that I can't wait to see this year, as they will be raining threes on opponents.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Katelyn Dewitt</strong> | 2024| Grand Blanc</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While Katelyn is an all around player and is a fearless, physical player, she excels from deep. I've watched her several times, and she has hit multiple three pointers every time. She has a quick release and hits well from corners.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='244749' first='Klaire' last='Caldwell'] | 2024| Midland Dow</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While not the most textbook form, there might not be a player that can heat up as quickly. Klaire tied a school record with 11 made three pointers in the District Finals. It is impossible to sag off of her.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='335976' first='Zar'ria' last='Mitchell'] |2023| Saginaw Heritage</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mitchell is a four year starter that went from a spot-up shooter to a creator off the dribble. Mitchell employs step backs and off the bounce pull-up threes. She is a fearless shooter that has shown near volleyball line range. She is nearly impossible to guard.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='424147' first='Payton' last='Palmer'] |2025| Midland</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Payton was an unheralded freshman last year that caught teams napping. Payton quickly became known as a zone killer with several first quarters with multiple three point makes. Her release is pure and effortless. I guarantee that Payton will be at the top of the scouting report this year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='256881' first='Erica' last='Slocum'] |2023| Bay City Western</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The fourth year varsity player has been a mainstay in the Western rotation in part because of her ability to heat up from deep. While Erica excels in quarter court spot ups, she also shows a great transition deep game.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='189298' first='Alexcis' last='Parker'] |2023| Flint Powers</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She's a three way scorer that excels in getting down hill. Part of what makes her drive game so effective is that she is such a good three point shooter off the bounce. She had some huge games against top teams, with her three point shooting was the difference in each game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='190720' first='Jada' last='McCree'] | Grand Blanc | 2023</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jada is another bullseye shooter from Grand Blanc. Jada has WNBA range on her jumper and has the ability to connect off the bounce and off of movement. She also possesses the ability to get hot and hit several three pointers in a row. Jada and Katelyn Dewitt are going to terrorize SVL defenses.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jamiyla Thigpen</strong> | Carman Ainsworth | 2023</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Carman product that goes by the nickname Jam makes her money as a 3 and D, rebounding specialist. While a streaky shooter, Jamiyla is the primary reason why teams struggle to zone CA. She has hit at least 2 three pointers every game I've watched or every box score I have read. She is an under the radar shooter that will hopefully get the props she deserves.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
