I had a chance to visit the Bump City Fall League and got a good look at several player that were very impressive. Some Teams were working out the kinks and high school teams went up against AAU teams. There was also an all-star team called the Blue Angels that had a mixture of top players from several high schools. Here are some of the players that made an impact over the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='433840' first='Kiera' last='West'] l 5-9 l Guard l South River

Kiera had a couple of big plays down the stretch to include a jumper, layup and free throws that lifted South River to a come from behind one point victory over the Gladiators. She should play a big role for the young team of Seahawks this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='785460' first='Cayenne' last='Pigeon'] l 5-4 l Guard l Lady Gladiators l 2027

Caynna was one of several Gladiators that stood out in the game. The scrappy group of eighth grade guards pressured the pall the entire time and had a comfortable lead for most of the game with help from some good long range shooting on her part. It wasn't until late that the high schoolers were able to pull it out.

[player_tooltip player_id='291153' first='Kimmya' last='Hicks'] l 5-10 l Wing l St. Frances Academy l 2023

Kimmya was excellent slashing to the basket. She sliced through the defense in transition at a different pace than anyone else on the floor. Fouling started to seem like the only option to stop her and she made them pay by making her free throws.

Ande'a Cherisier l 6-1 l Forward l St. Frances Academy l 2023

Ande'a had very good hands with her catch and finish. She coraled even bad passes in one swoop for a basket several times. She has a strong physical body but was usually the first player down cour on the fast break.

Anaya Morrison l 5-6 l Guard l Parkdale l 2025

Anaya was deadly from outside with five 3-pointers in the game. She made three on back to back to back possessions as Parkdale tried desperately to mount a comeback. It would have been nice to see her start launching them earlier to see what adjustments the defense could have made.

[player_tooltip player_id='299822' first='Kisa' last='Lilly'] l 5-7 l Combo Guard l The Family l 2024

Kisa looked like the most skilled player in the gym. She showed superb ball handling and an excellent shot especially of the dribble. She has grown a few inches but at 5'7" she plays around 5'10" as she is able to get off contested shots and keep her accuracy.
