There were several players that I was able to see for the first time as well as several that it was good to see again. With the First Team evaluations out, we move to the second team. Look for the third team coming soon.
Kitali is a two-way playmaker. She’s a difference maker on both ends of the floor. She really does a good job of stopping perimeter players from getting to their desired spots, which in itself causes some turnovers. Her vision and patience stand out which makes it extremely challenging for defenders to force her into errors. She is a fun PG to play with because she will find you if you are open and she likes to share the ball
Highlights
Taylor made the trip from the south side of the city and it was great that she did. She was explosive with the ball in her hands. With a great pace in transition, she got to the rim from the opposite wing with three dribbles a few different times. She has great body control when leaving the floor and an advanced finishing package. She is also a consistent scorer from behind the arc.
Highlights
This was my first look at Delaney and I hope to catch her again soon. She played and defended well on the perimeter the entire showcase. She makes aggressive drives in the halfcourt that lead to positive plays for her and her teammates. She made some nice reads against the defense. She defended well, usually able get deflections against other wing players.
Highlights
Riley showed some true post moves which surprised me for the bigger wing. There was a segment where her coach demanded that she receive the entry pass and she scored on three consecutive possessions against a center with great size at the event. She followed it up with a strong rebound and push in transition before flipping it back to a guard for an open three. She has the skill and IQ and is a deep ball threat.
Amilya is always easy to spot because of her height. She uses it well in the game. It is hard to move her around in the paint. She is a true option in the pick and roll game and is often times open on her roles simply because she sets some very good screens. Grabbing boards in her area comes with ease.
