The gym was full of talented players and well coached teams, every time you looked up there was another exciting play, overtime game or buzzer beaters wins. I can go all day about the talent that was in the gym but when it came down to the 2026 class these players were a must watch all weekend!
Miley Malcolm Miley Malcolm 6'0" | SG Porter Ridge | 2026 State NC ( Lady Attack Elite 2026) – The 6’0 PG is a coaches dream, she was the most poised player on the floor all weekend, she controlled the tempo very well, made great passes to her teammates and had some huge plays down the stretch in some tough physical games. She always has her head up and can swift through defenses in transition with her tight ball handling skills. Miley also showed teams that she is not hesitant at all to let it fly from deep and she definitely made teams pay for leaving her open. Her game is so admirable and she still has so much more to give, Miley Malcolm Miley Malcolm 6'0" | SG Porter Ridge | 2026 State NC is definitely one of the top guards in her class and will only continue to get better as she matures. I would like to see Malcolm develop better at finishing, with her height if she can master getting inside under control every time she will had another 8 points and 4 assist to her game.
Kate Schindler ( Lady Attack Elite 2026)- Kate Schindler is another player who has a high ceiling to her game, Schindler is just the ultimate competitor and is willing to do whatever is needed to help her team win. Whether it be her knocking down threes and showing off her smooth offensive game or her taking the challenge to guard the opposing teams best player to put her team in the best position to win; Schindler is not only capable but willing to do so. Her 5’10 frame allows her to see over defenders and make plays for others and her long arms helps her give opposing teams guards problems when dribbling the ball. After this weekend Schindler is known for more than just a scoring if you ask me.
Nykira Arrington Nykira Arrington 6'1" | C Hollbrook M.S. | 2026 NC ( NC Gems Tidwell) – Nykira Arrington was the most energetic player on the floor in every game she played in this weekend the 6’1 forward plays with so much passion and will take it to whoever is in her way. She goes after every rebound, can push it in transition and has the ability to knock a few outside shots. The thing that impresses me the most with this kid is she plays every game like it is her last and I mean EVERY game. Very raw talent and I would love to see Arrington improve on her footwork and being a little bit more under control with her decisions but she is very young and if she can manage to work on the little things she will absolutely be a top player in her class.
Brianna Carelock ( NC Gems Tidwell)- Brianna Carelock is a pure bucket getter. I’ve had the opportunity to see her player a few times in the summer and I kid you not , her teammate Nykira Arrington Nykira Arrington 6'1" | C Hollbrook M.S. | 2026 NC always tips it to her and Carelock always manages to score the first bucket every game. At 5’6 she has the ability to get by defenders with ease at times and makes some very tough finishes. The smooth lefty can stroke it from deep too making it tough at times for opposing teams to guard her. She is very scrappy of the defensive side as well and is not afraid of contact. As Carelock grows I would like her to keep that killer instinct going for the whole game, I noticed at times she can go a couple possessions without making a play but these talented players are very young and have nothing but time to develop. It is true pleasure to watch them compete!
