Stella Parker-5’9 SF (Brookland) Arkansas Sting Yellow [2023] AR
Parker maneuvered in both the open court and the set to attack the basket while finishing using very good body control. Her first step was the key and contact didn’t matter but she also showed a nice pull-up jumper in transition, she handled the ball and saw the floor hitting teammates on the money for assist opportunities
Lex Parker-5’9 SG (Gravette) AAO Flight [2024] AR
Parker was one of the best “off the dribble” guards throughout the event. She did whatever she wanted whenever she wanted and her acrobatic finishes, coupled with doing it after contact had me going. Factor in she has a nice mid to long-range jumper and handled the ball coast to coast after rebounding. Her stop-and-pop in transition was nice also
Amaya Grissom Amaya Grissom 5'5" | PG Edmond Santa Fe | 2024 State OK -5’5 PG (Edmond Santa Fe) Burner U [2024] OK
Grissom is athletic with a quick first step yet she also used her body control to finish as well as anyone at the event. She attacks the basket relentlessly, her explosiveness off the dribble and finishing strongly after contact was huge but she also handled the ball and saw the floor well. Her baseline-to-baseline defense created turnovers, that was big
Cyriah Roberson-5’5 PG (John Marshall) Burner U [2024] OK
Roberson got me going off the top by playing the passing lane. I don’t see that enough and when I do I get excited because all it takes is effort. She showed more of that by diving on the floor for loose balls as well as trapping the offensive player. Her quick hands got her some steals, she scored attacking from multiple spots, and made solid passes in traffic
Cameron Christie-5’6 SG (Perryville) Arkansas Sting Yellow [2024] AR
Christie created her shot under pressure and watching her knock down the outside shot set everything up because the defender had to guard her closely. She used the opportunity, as well as a deceptive first step, to attack the basket, which she did with either hand. She also finished with either hand and showed solid “on-the-ball” defense
Grace Frazier-5’4 PG (Diamond) MO Legacy 16U [2024] MO
Frazier shined no matter what club I caught her with over the season and although I teased her with the “down goes Frazier” from the Ali fights. it was hard to keep her down, well contain her. She razzled and dazzled defenders with numerous fakes and watching her score in droves was smooth. Her court vision and threading the needle in traffic were off the chain to go along with the off-the-dribble and mid to long-range scoring and she does something I really love to see, “plays the passing lane”
Jayla Lawson Jayla Lawson 5'6" | PG John Marshall | 2024 OK -5’5 SG (John Marshall) Burner U [2024] OK
Lawson created plenty of buzz as I was ear hustling going court to court and usually I wish I had earplugs. This time was different, not only did she drop the long-range, she dropped it from NBA range, several times and on top of that, she did a variety of ways like coming off screens, doing in the set, the release is “quick and fluid” and she also showed she could “catch and shoot”
Diamond Britt Diamond Britt 5'6" | PG Edmond Santa Fe | 2025 State OK -5’6 SG (Edmond Santa Fe) Burner U [2025] OK
Britt understands how to take over a game offensively and at this stage of her career, that will take her a long way. Yeah, she can score off the dribble and defy gravity on her finishes but her creating her shot for the mid to long-range played a part in that because the defender had to defend. On the flip, she plays solid “on-the-ball” defense
