Puot is a high energy player with a high ceiling. She is a good size at 6’0 with the ability to bring the ball up the floor, rebound and push it in transition, finish at the hoop, or knock down a three pointer. When I was able to see her play at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Camp this fall she was a stand out star. She is a consistent shooter that likes to spot up behind the arc a good amount but has the ability to drive on her defender and finish over the top if need be. It will be interesting to see where Puot ends up after receiving a good amount of interest for a few mid-major D1’s up until this point. This winter her stock will continue to rise as her senior season progresses forward and her team keeps inching toward state.
Addison Klosterbuer Addison Klosterbuer 5’9″ | SG Central Lyon | 2023 State IA returns for her senior year at Central Lyon High School after finishing an impressive junior campaign which ended at the state tournament. After being ranked a bit lower last year Klosterbuer sneaks into the updated Top 100 rankings at #10. She would be described as a knock down shooting guard who possesses really good form and balance when shooting. She comes off of screens low with her hands ready to shoot, doing a good job of making sure her footwork is correct on each shot and her balance is centered. The University Of South Dakota basketball commit will aim to take her team back to state for one last chance at a title. With herself, and the same core group of girls returning next season, they will be favored to win it all from the first tip of the season.
Halle Vice Halle Vice 5’11” | SG Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA had a dominate year for Pleasant Valley High School during the 21′-22′ season, followed by successful summer with an elite All Iowa Attack EYBL 17u team out of Des Moines. Vice, a combo forward in high school, moves into the #5 spot in the rankings heading into her senior year. She is a lengthy, athletic player who does a good job of exposing her mismatches. She can shoot the ball really well with a high release point and good arc, while also being able to drive either way and finish through contact. The Marquette women’s basketball commit will likely start her college career coming off the bench as a shooter but then move into a more demanding role as she gets older. She will be a good sized weapon if she can stay consistent and do what is asked of her at the next level.
The progression of Ella Bockenstedt Ella Bockenstedt 6’0″ | PF Marion | 2023 State IA ‘s game has been impressive to say the least over the past few seasons, inching her closer and closer to the top of her class. Going into her senior year she moves into the #26 spot in our rankings after being just outside of the top 50 a season ago. Bockenstedt, the crafty forward and William Jewell women’s basketball commit, caused havoc all summer on her Iowa Prep AAU team. Playing all around the paint she showed off how versatile her game is by using a spin move going either way, finishing over either shoulder, or pulling it out for a knock down jump shot when the defender didn’t contest. In the offseason she has really worked on her jump shot so that she can expand her game and role more on the floor. I can really see it starting to pay off. When I saw her play this summer at Nike TOC she was 4/4 from behind the three point line in 2 games while dominating down low the rest of the time. She will return once more this winter with some other big names seniors for one more opportunity to make it to state and play for a championship.
