Region 5 Players To Watch

The returning All-Region athlete is looking for another big year. Smith is a crafty guard, who knows how to attack the rim, knock down big shots but also understands the game from all angles, and make plays happen. Double her up with [player_tooltip player_id='249941' first='Daisy' last='Sparrow'], the pair could be a handful for other teams. Smith returns as the leading scorer in region 5 with 18.7ppg, look for her to put up big numbers, and make things happen on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='543871' first='Katie' last='Frank']: 5'7 Center/Stanton- Frank another All-Region Selection made a statement last year as she averaged 14.3ppg pulled down 5.4rpg and showcased her abilities shooting not only inside but from the parameter as well with 28 3-pointers. Frank not only knows how to get it done offensively, but defensively as well. Last year she tallied up 61 steals, and can really pressure the opposing guards, her quick hands and toughness can create problems for others. She will be another fun one to watch this year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='211396' first='Karli' last='Klein']: 5'11 Sr. Garrison- A true hardworking athletic post that is under looked in my opinion, there is a reason she was also an All-Region selection in 2022, she's flat-out good. Klein is returning averaging 12.4ppg, 10.4rpg and 25 blocks and I don't see those numbers going down this year. She's tough, aggressive and plays hard all game long. Add that to her soft touch, and footwork in the post, she is a lot to handle. Expectations are high for her this year, rightfully so you can consider her a Double-Double waiting to happen.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='100449' first='Hailey' last='Quam']: 6'0 Sr. Shiloh Christian- The All-Stater is already an accomplished and well-rounded player looking for another big year with the Skyhawks. Quam doubles not only as a player who can control the ball/tempo of the game, but she is equally skilled with her 6' frame in the post. With her skills and athleticism, she can be the player to completely turn a game around and put-up big numbers nightly. With Quam returning averaging 17.7ppg and 8.2rpg, I expect another big year in store for the all-stater.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='543873' first='Rylee' last='Fleck']: Flasher- Fleck a returning All-Region 5 Junior knows how to tear apart a defense and put-up big numbers. Fleck comes into 22-23' the 2nd leading scorer in the region where she averages 17.7ppg and can get it done inside and out. Offensively she has a great on court awareness, and a confident shot to match, not only that but she isn't afraid to attack the hoop and look for the soft touch off the glass. She's not one you want to sleep on, she flat out knows how to score and will capitalize on it. Great motor and work ethic, another big year is in store for her.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='250584' first='Mackenzie' last='Brandt']: 5'8 Sr. New Salem/Almont- Brand is an explosive "get after it" type of player that comes ready to play on a nightly basis and her motor does not seem to stop. Brandt has good size she knows how to use inside and out, with a little finesse she could cause some trouble for teams this season. An All-Region 5 Selection in 2022, Brandt is returning averaging 10.6ppg and 6.6rpg and will be a big part of the team's success this coming year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
