Tyra Sotelo-5’4 PG (Brennan)
Sotelo is a prime example of perseverance. She was one of her teams’ standouts during their impressive run last season which trickled onto club ball yet a slight injury pressed pause earlier. Well, her mindset and continued progression will be huge this season as she not only can see the floor, she dives on it for loose balls, plus off the dribble and mid to long-range, she’s a threat
Tiara Louis Tiara Louis 5'8" | CG Brennan | 2024 State TX -5’5 SG (Brennan)
Louis fills in many blanks for her talented squad, whether it’s playing solid on the ball defense or hitting a clutch shot when needed. She understands how to get hers “in the flow” and she plays “within herself” but she also does a good job of not only creating her shot under pressure but her court vision is nice as well. To top it off, she plays the passing lane
Taylor Ross Taylor Ross 6'0" | PF Brennan | 2024 State TX -6’0 PF/C (Brennan)
Ross might be one of the most underrated players standing at “the magic number” in Texas. That magic is 72 inches and above yet the real magic is her DESIRE to go after everything off of the rim which gets her the #THROWBACK hashtag. Her next-level frame is there, and her next-level game keeps elevating but her scoring around the basket, off the dribble, as well as her outside jumper, was effective
Taylor Craver Taylor Craver 5'8" | PG Sasche | 2024 State TX -5’9 SG (Cedar Hill)
Craver is one of those “never takes a play-off” type of player and her smothering defense creates turnovers galore. She understands how to force players into the trap, she has quick hands and comes away with steals and she rebounds on both ends. Her playing the passing lane needs to be mentioned, and so does her scoring from numerous angles off the dribble yet her midrange jumper keeps the defender honest
Kiana Henning-5’6 CG (Cornerstone)
Henning is one of those “surprise” players I might have missed so watching her aggressiveness on both ends told me a lot. She loves to defend, and that immediately caught my eye, as well as her going after loose balls, on the floor, in the air, whatever, JUST DID IT for me. She also attacks the basket with either hand and finished after contact using nice body control plus she created her shot from the outside, under pressure
A’mya Edwards-5’8 SG (Hendrickson)
Edwards is an athletic guard that is fearless while attacking the basket. She knows the contact is coming yet she stays under control and finishes strongly. I also enjoyed her dropping the pull-up jumper, both in the set as well as in transition but her ability to score “in the clutch” several times told me a lot
Olivia Williams-5’6 G (Houston Christian)
Williams was another player that knocked down some big shots in clutch situations. From mid to very long range, she has consistently shown she can nail it but under pressure was very nice. She also scored off the dribble
Debi Hernandez-5’3 SG (San Antonio Lee)
Hernandez is one of those talented #sizedontmatter guards you don’t want to blink because you might miss something. Her ability to go off and score in droves has always impressed me but her range was one of the best at the event. She has also improved on her “catch and shoot” from outside but she saw the floor and scored off the dribble
