I missed Summer Creek and their talented guard [player_tooltip player_id='510469' first='Kennedy' last='Simpson'] as well as Frisco Liberty's [player_tooltip player_id='510461' first='Jacy' last='Abii'], one of the top players in the country, who was out but I did get good looks at quite a few talented freshmen from both Sandra Meadows Classic as well as Spring Creek Mansfield Invitational

SANDRA MEADOWS CLASSIC

Charley Rawlins-5'6 G (Fayetteville) AK

Rawlins stood out immediately showing good court vision as well as controlling the ball under pressure. She attacked the basket strongly and finished the same way, strongly, after contact. She also applied baseline-to-baseline pressure defensively

Nadia Adeleke-5'9 SF (Vista Ridge)

Adeleke uses her athleticism nicely on both ends and watching her slice down the lane using either hand was nice and so were her finishes. She rebounded on both ends, handled the ball in the open court, and saw the floor

Nadine Adeleke-5'7 G (Vista Ridge)

Adeleke did a good job creating her shot under pressure and getting it off whenever she wanted. Her midrange game is going to be her "go-to" because she can get wherever she wants and elevate over defenders

[player_tooltip player_id='597327' first='Aubrey' last='McClain']-5'7 G (Amarillo Palo Duro)

McClain falls into that "long and athletic" category I speak about over and over because it is the base. Her intangibles are she has a very nice first step to get to the basket yet she also can drop the long ball. Her defense was solid, and so was her playing the passing lane and handling the ball afterward

[player_tooltip player_id='597326' first='Fre' last='Vowels']-5'5 G (Bishop Lynch)

Vowels left a lasting first impression as she played under control yet aggressively on both ends of the court. She set the defender up using a deceptive first step and her body control was a huge plus for her finishes. I also saw the pull-up jumper, both in the set as well as in transition yet she showed she could drop the long ball as well. Good defender and plays the passing lane

[player_tooltip player_id='486404' first='Jaclyn' last='Silva']-5'5 PG (John Paul II)

Silva is heady and understands something very important and that's how to control the tempo. Her passes are crisp and on the money yet her directing traffic in the brief time I caught her had me smiling. She scores both off the dribble as well as mid to long range

SPRING CREEK MANSFIELD INVITATIONAL

[player_tooltip player_id='597328' first='Jevan' last='Collier']-5'10 F (Frisco Lebanon Trail)

Collier's upside is intriguing because her college-ready body showed contact was irrelevant. She has nice moves around the basket, hands and footwork were part of it, but she also went after the ball off the rim which is always a good sign, well her interior defense needs to be mentioned as well

[player_tooltip player_id='486406' first='Madison' last='Crawford']-5'6 PG (Mansfield Legacy)

Crawford has made the transition with flying colors, after all her initials are MC and she has consistently dropped the mic, which will never get old. I know she can drop the jumper from anywhere, as well as give acrobatic finishes after contact but her "smothering on the ball defense" JUST DID IT for me

Ivy Oliver-5'9 CG (Spring Branch Memorial)

Oliver was more that a pleasant surprise since catching her in high school for the first time. Yeah, I knew she could shoot but boy can she shoot, and I mean with a hand in her face. She creates her shot under pressure and scores off the dribble

[player_tooltip player_id='340894' first='Draden' last='Moss']-6'0 SG (Spring Branch Memorial)

Moss has shown me over the years what was coming and let me say this, college coaches love big guards that can shoot. She doesn't force shots yet she sets the defender up nicely because if you have her room, she can nail it with ease but she also attacks and finishes strongly. I love her adding more to the "catch and shoot"
