Wearbon has made the transition over from Mauldin HS to Southside HS. Lauren can really get after it and create her own offense. Lauren will score the ball from all 3 levels at times. She could drop the floater one second later she is knocking down perimeter jumpers from 3-point range. She’s geared to score the ball from the backcourt.
Wearbon is currently averaging 13.1 ppg, 5.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 5.1 steals for the Lady Tigers.
Lowe lives off the grid near the North Carolina border over in the Pee Dee. Tysonia recently went over 1,000 career points for the Lady Bulldogs. Tysonia isn’t big in stature, but she can fill up a stat sheet quickly. Tysonia played with a very local Grassroots team and seems to be bit undervalued around the Palmetto State.
Page has good size to play both guard positions in the backcourt for legendary Head Coach Mark Huff. Leah really likes to have the ball in her hands and make crafty passes while in the process. She sees the floor well from out top. Can Page and the Lady Indians make some noise in the Upper State this season?
Rivers has been around for a long time in a Lady Iron Horses uniform. Kennedy has been on varsity 6 years for the Purple and Black. She has scored 1,256 career points for Philip Simmons. Rivers can knockdown shots when open. Kennedy plays most comfortable at times playing on the perimeter. She will leak out at times in transition for cheapies in transition.
Jakes and the Lady Eagles will try and win a 3rd straight Class 1A State Championship come this March. Rykia has been very instrumental in this program’s success over the years. The Lady Eagles were runners-up back in 2020 and have played in the past 3 straight state championship games. Jakes always seems to be shot ready to receive the ball and brings a swarming mind on the defensive end of the floor.
The Lady Cyclones will rely on Snyder to provide plenty of scoring chances this season. Asa on a given night might see a double-team from opponents, might be face-guarded and shadowed all night long. Snyder has a good quick release with an accurate stroke. Prep Girls Hoops first saw her play as a freshman for the Lady Cyclones. Asa will be relied on a lot this season for the for the Lady Cyclones success.
Kellermann is back for the Lady Iron Horses after going down last season with an injury. She missed all of the Grassroots basketball season. Kylee is currently averaging 17.8 ppg this season in her return for Philip Simmons while connecting on 36% (18-50) from downtown. She just like her teammate Kennedy Rivers Kennedy Rivers 5’5″ | CG Philip Simmons | 2023 State SC have both been on the varsity since 7th graders. Kylee currently has 1,160 career points after missing most of last season. The Lady Iron Horses are playing up in Class 3A this season.
Highlights
Franklin plays in a talented backcourt with the Lady Lions. Tinsley seems to best fitted as a shooting guard. She likes to set up shop in the corners and really make defenders pay. She has long range shooting ability to stretch the defense and understands good shot selection. Tinsley plays a bit under the radar on this squad but, I think she likes that with the likes of Kendahl Spearman, Trinity Vance and Mia Holloway on the same roster.
Nash dropped 42 points last night for the Lady Eagles. She can really score the ball at times. She excels in a transition style of play. Alaysia has a nice mid-range game and has the ability to create own shot while on the floor. She plays very active in the passing lanes while picking up plenty of deflections along the way.
