The games span four days and bring in teams from the border to the UP. It’s a full slate of games that start at nine in the morning and go past nine at night. Most of the games on Day 1 came down to the final minute and had some strong performances. Though there were a lot of great performances, these six kids had games that were next level.
For the record, I was still on the road when this game was played, but my Twitter feed blew up about her 38 point performance. Kid set her school’s record for most points in a game. I’m not shocked by this performance at all. I’ve coached against this kid and hated every minute of it (in a good way). The kid is dangerous.
The kid just flat out carried her team, and the team fell apart when she went to the bench with early foul trouble. She managed to get 15 points despite being doubled all night and trapped everywhere on the court. She had minimum six steals and would have had double digit assists if her passes had been converted. She is hard to keep out of the lane. She put a kid in the spin cycle and dropped an amazing pass.
Lexi was the most dominant player on the day. She drew quadruple teams throughout the second half yet still found ways to create space. Once she got the ball, it was a guaranteed bucket. I was most impressed with her motor and ability to move in the press and off the ball. I was curious how her knee would hold up and if she would be tentative- all questions were answered for me. She checked all boxes for me: steals, owned the boards, blocks, and outlet passes.
I’ve watched Chelsea for the last three years and came away impressed. Her outside shot gets better every time I see her play. She opened the game on a 7-0 personal run. She is a very good defender and is incredibly quick. She is a strong two way player that has lockdown defender abilities.
The sophomore is one of the most complete offensive players in 2025. She has the ability to post-nice footwork on drop steps, work the high post, and a tough midrange game. She is a very capable ball handler that can get into the lane off either hand. She has the ability to be a disruptive defender. Frankenmuth is one of the best programs in the state, and Anya gave them fits.

Elli Robak
Elli still might be my favorite freshman in the state. She is a scary outside shooter and showed a passing ability that boarders on elite. Grand Blanc is one of the most physical teams in the state, and Elli more than matched their physicality. She has an uncanny ability to recover on drives and manage to get fully in front of the ball, which she ties up cleanly. She showed great defense and ability to handle pressure.
