McLaine Hudson
Mclaine Hudson is a star on the softball field and the basketball court. She is a fierce competitor that really leaves it all on the floor when she plays. Hudson showed she is a lethal three point shooter knocking down multiple shots from behind the arc. She attacked the rim using a floater that was just a giant killer very hard for low post defenders to get a hand on it. Her best game was against Henry Clay she led the Lady Spartans in scoring with 19 points. She had 5 rebounds and 3 steals as well.
Highlights
Maya Lawrie Maya Lawrie 5'11" | PF Notre Dame Academy | 2025 State KY has really increased her level of intensity and level of play since seeing her over the summer. She is the vocal leader for the Pandas and the glue that keeps the team together. Lawrie does what’s necessary for her team to win the type of things that you don’t see on a stat sheet. She rebounded at a very high level throughout the entire tournament and played excellent exterior and interior defense. Her best game came against Male she had 8 points,11 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
Highlights
The “Sniper” was in rare form at the holiday classic her elite three point shooting catapulted Notre Dame all the way to the Championship game. Hubert shoots it so effortlessly with just a flick of the wrist the ball is at the rim going through the net. In a tight one against Male she went off for 27 points going 5/11 from three. Hubert then dropped 24 points going 6/10 from three against Southwestern.
Sophia Gibson Sophia Gibson 6'4" | C Notre Dame Academy | 2025 State KY played with the level of toughness and tenacity that you want out of your center. Gibson is probably the longest prospect in Kentucky if we are talking height and wingspan. Seeing this type of size in person would make any college coach do a double take. Gibson played really well against Male she had 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 blocks.
Brianna Wilkins Brianna Wilkins 5'10" | SF Christian Academy of Louisville | 2026 State KY is no question the top 2026 prospect in the state of Kentucky. At the Holiday Classic she showed why she is so highly touted. Wilkins is a fearless competitor that thrives in big moments. On day two in a close one against GRC she went off for a team high 23 points. Following that game she had 13 points going 6/6 from the field, 3 rebounds, ad 5 steals in a lopsided victory over South Warren.
Mariah Knight Mariah Knight 6'1" | PF Butler | 2024 State KY continues to play like one of the top players in her class. She played very consistent throughout the entire tournament. Knight can score and rebound at a really high level. Her best game came against South Warren she led the team in scoring with 21 points while grabbing 5 rebounds. She then put up a near double double against GRC with 15 points and 9 rebounds.
Addison Kincaid Addison Kincaid 6'3" | C Sacred Heart Academy | 2025 State KY has tremendous size and skill at the center position. She seemed to always be in the right place to either score a bucket inside or grab a rebound. Her best game was against South Warren she had 16 points and 7 rebounds in a blow out win. Kincaid has great upside and she will continue to elevate her game and become a key component to a young but very talented CAL team.
I have been very impressed with the way Kate Baker Kate Baker 5'4" | PG Frederick Douglass | 2025 State KY has been playing this season. Her confidence level is through the roof and it shows on the court. Baker is a leader on the floor that makes sure her team runs the plays and everybody gets involved. Her best performance was on day one against Lawrence County she had 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assist.
Lydia Van Metre Lydia Van Metre 5'8" | SF Henry Clay | 2024 State KY is a lethal long range shooter with a really high IQ on the court. She knows when to be effective and she picks her spots well when its time to score. Against Lincoln County Van Metre had 11 points going 3/6 from three. Van Metre can score at high level once she finds her rhythm. I except her to really turn it up a notch for the Lady Blue Devils as we are at the midway point of the season.
