Kate went out with a bang for her last time competing at the Run 4 Roses. She came out the gate hot and scorched the nets against MOKAN Elite finishing with a team-high 18 points and went 6-8 from three. She followed that performance with 15 points against Tampa Thunder Dupree along with 19 points in bracket play against Phoenix Platinum.

Kate Baker Kate Baker Kate Baker 5'4" | PG Frederick Douglass | 2025 State KY was one of the most deadly and accurate 3 point shooters this weekend at the PGH Victory Finals. She put an exclamation point on her tournament with a smoking gun 3 point performance in the championship game. Kate ripped the nets with an eye popping five 3s to keep Bluegrass Basketball 2025 ahead and she did a fantastic job of patiently reversing the ball until she had the green light. Kate defended the ball well by cutting off drives all weekend, and creates open looks for teammates with her ability to drive and dish accurate passes.

I really liked what I saw from Kate Baker Kate Baker Kate Baker 5'4" | PG Frederick Douglass | 2025 State KY over the week. In the game against Louisville Lady Aces 2025 she was aggressive on offense and made back-to-back triples followed by a pretty floater in the lane. She made an impact on the defensive end as well. Kate also put up a team-high 16 points in the first game of the event against Southern Kentucky Starz 2025.

Baker is the type of point guard that you can trust to run the offense and follow the game plan. Her leadership and ability to play under control always stands out to me. Baker showed excellent court-vision and made sure to get others involved but when she saw an opening, she would expose NDA’s weaknesses on defense by either driving to the basket if she was played tight or pulling up from three if she was given too much space. Baker also played good defense and came up with steals that led to coast to coast buckets.

Excellent shooter with a quick release on her shot. Doesn’t matter if it’s on the move, off the dribble, or a set shot, she can knock them down from all over the court. Not just a shooter or scorer though – also made good passes, handled the ball well, crashed the boards, and played tough defense.

The Lady Broncos made a big run to get to state tournament this season and Baker was a big part of their success. Making the move up from 46th overall to 29th, Kate showed that she could be the best point guard in the 11th region for the foreseeable future. Primarily a distributor, Kate can get buckets when she wants to force the action but often lays back and creates for others.
