Bellarmine has a bunch of guards who can handle the ball and create off the dribble, however, none were better at creating space for their own shot than Stone. She was able to get to the rim, hit the step back from mid-range, and as the primary point guard was secure with the ball even as she continuously attacked with the dribble. Stone showed off some nice feel for setting up teammates as well, making good decisions and hitting teammates right on time.
The lone returning starter from last year’s runner-up squad, Houillon hit the floor more than any other player at the showcase. She attacks the basket with a fearless attitude and is more concerned with where the ball is going than where she’s going to land. She continues to be a menace from mid-range and is especially dangerous after a couple dribbles with the pullup jumper. Houillon is stop-and-go all game long and is a high energy player.

Transition buckets were huge in Bethel’s game against Kentwood, and Lime-Laupati was getting up and down the court all night. She accounted for a ton of transition buckets and was able to finish through contact with efficiency. She’s got good size at the guard spot and knows how to use it when attacking players at the rim. She also showed she can line up behind the arc and knock some shots down and could be a dynamic player to watch going forward.
Travis stood out mainly for her toughness, but she is an all-around player who can affect the game on both ends of the floor. First off, she’s a tough defender who brings the pressure on-ball and uses her quickness to shut down drives and force the ball to keep moving. Offensively, she can create a little with the ball, has nice form from long-distance, but her best skill seemed to be her understanding of the offense and the timing and location of her passes.
Start your engines – Aluas was a lightning rod for Eastlake, showing superb hustle and a nonstop motor against a tough Bellarmine squad. Every time she got the ball she was looking to push and catch the defense out of position. She’s another player who looks to get in the mix whenever there’s a sliver of a chance she can win the ball. Aluas also got to the line a few times and showed a reliable stroke with the freebies.

Leingang was a huge factor in the outcome of their game against Eastlake, coming off the bench to pull down rebounds in bunches and get gritty inside. She was particularly important on the offensive glass, getting second chances for the offensive, and she was just as involved chasing down loose balls and showing the ability to not give up on the play.
