Kyla Mason
The Xavier senior has led the Saints in scoring this season. They’ve continued their success from years past and are building on their appearance at the state tournament. Mason has been a significant player for the Saints this season, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. Her experience playing at a high level in AAU and high school will be crucial as the Saints look to make a run deep into the postseason.
Nicole Storck Nicole Storck 5'9" | PF ADM Adel | 2023 State IA
ADM is off to a solid start to their first ten games of the season. The Tiger’s success has been down to Storck’s play this season. Storck is leading the Tigers in scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocks thus far. The senior has efficiently put points on the board for the Tigers. Her reliability is significant for the Tigers. Storck has been the kid that opposing teams have keyed on this season, and she’s still found ways to excel within the flow of the Tigers’ offense. Storck keeping up her production over the first ten games is key to the Tigers’ second half.
Alliyah Thompson Alliyah Thompson 6'1" | SF Ballard | 2024 State IA
The Ballard junior has been excellent through the first half and has scored at a high level. Her shooting splits of 55/52/68 are impressive because she’s also leading the team in rebounds and steals over the first eight games of the season. Thompson has been effective in any way you could imagine. Thompson makes winning plays on both ends of the floor, and the Bombers will need her to continue to excel if they want to win another state title this season, but in 4A instead of their 3A title last season.
Katelyn Eggena
The Waverly-Shell Rock forward has been dominant for the Go-Hawks. She’s scored well around the basket, and her ability to make free throws at a high level makes her difficult to handle. If she can finish through contact, there isn’t an ideal way to defend her other than hoping she misses shots around the rim. Eggena has led the Go-Hawks in points, rebounds, blocks, and field-goal percentage over the first seven games of their season. She’s been in a rhythm over the first half.
