The event was a small event with some very solid players and programs in attendance. It featured several teams from North Carolina and a few Palmetto State squads. Let’s get into the coverage right here on your source for basketball coverage in the Carolinas.
Palmetto State Seniors:
Milaysia Fulwiley Milaysia Fulwiley 5'8" | PG Keenan | 2023 State #9 Nation SC for sure highlighted this group of players today from the Road to the Chip. Fulwiley a University of South Carolina signee finished with 25 points today in a loss to K.O.D. Skills Academy (NC) 65-56. Milaysia moved her total to 2,855 career points to date. The Lady Raiders currently stand (13-6) this season.
Tanaja Kennedy Tanaja Kennedy 5'2" | PG Keenan | 2023 State SC finished with 15 points in the loss today for the Lady Raiders. Tanaja a savvy point guard really looked to finish a lot attacking the rack from the left-side today. She constantly played the game in attack mode and was the beneficiary of some great passes from Fulwiley. Tanaja really likes to use the ball-screen at times and turn the corner to the basket.
Samaya Johnson Samaya Johnson 6'2" | C Keenan | 2023 State SC might not score the ball a ton for your squad. She does embrace playing down on the low block and rebounding the basketball. Samaya had 12 rebounds today for the Lady Raiders. She really does a good job of being a mover-screener at times and keeping the ball up high. She manufactures points on put-backs at times. Johnson is a true post player who would really benefit a program in a half-court style of play.
Teirra Griffin Teirra Griffin 5'6" | PG Keenan | 2023 State SC is the forgotten piece here at times for the Lady Raiders. She stays active around the cup and picks up some opportunities at times. Teirra scored 10 points today in the loss all around the cup area.

Several players today were already committed and signed for next season. Chandler Brooks Chandler Brooks 6'0" | PG 1 of 1 Prep Academy | 2023 State NC is headed to Embry-Riddle (FL) (NCAA D2) next fall. Brooks recently arrived at 1 of 1 Prep after being at Providence Day. Chandler is a very skilled left-handed combo with a very smooth game. She actually finished today with a triple double today 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists according to my unofficial stats. She has great court awareness and vision from out top.
Aaliyah El Aaliyah El 5'8" | CG 1 of 1 Prep Academy | 2023 State NC will play her ball at Mars Hill University (NC) (NCAA D2) next season. Skills Academy this season for Head Coach Jody Patton. The trio helped Rock Hill HS win a Class 5A State Championship last March down in the Palmetto State. This trio is so fun to watch when it comes to competing and knocking down shots on the perimeter at times.
Alana finished with 12 points while connecting on 4 three-pointers today while Laila finished with 10 points. Alana really likes to set up shop out behind the three-point line and shoots the ball at a high clip. Laila is a GREAT ATHLETE from out top and has the ability to lead a squad. She really has a good understanding of the game and demeanor on the court at all times along with being rock solid in the classroom with her academics.
Best Performance of the Day:

Deborah scored 9 points today while grabbing 10 rebounds in the win. She has great hands to catch anything thrown in her direction along with the ability to finish over both shoulders. Deborah really switch’s hands nicely to finish around the cup.
Ella Hobbs Ella Hobbs 6'4" | SF Jay M. Robinson | 2024 State NC recently came out with a Top 5 in her recruitment. Ohio State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Miami (FL) look to be the Top 5 for her services. Hobbs has a good skill set which expands out to the perimeter and her ability to knockdown shots. She had a modest stat line in a blowout victory.
Delanie Hill Delanie Hill 5'7" | CG Providence | 2024 State NC was able to connect on some open shots today from the mid-range and behind the arc for 1 of 1 Prep Academy.

She brought the EFFORT all day long with her play. Ayanna now attends Langtree Charter in Statesville. She showed good body control at times to the basket and a nice crossover dribble at times. She played to the horn sounded despite her team being defeated.
