Skiatook Tournament – Impact Players

She is aggressive when attacking the basket and has a nice touch but she is selfless and does an excellent job of making the extra pass and getting the ball to her open teammates. McGarrah is also a prime defender for the Lady Rams. She doesn't let many of her opponents get past her without some level of difficulty and she rebounds, aggressively. Alex may not have the most points on a given night but she is a main contributor to the Lady Rams success.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nay Nay Elbert 2023 - Owasso: Elbert is a very athletic guard who knows how to shoot and get to the rim. She has a quick first step and she uses her speed to get past anyone who is defending her; once she get past her defender, she is efficient at finishing and many times, draws contact to get the call. Defensively, she has quick hands that cause turnovers and makes the ball handler turn multiple times. Elbert is bouncy and in game one, she had 2 solid blocks at the perimeter by hustling over to the player that was about to shoot. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kynlie Wilson 2024 - Owasso: Kynlie is a defensive menace. She stays low and cut off the ball handlers line, constantly; once the ball handler picks up the ball, she is aggressive and on many occasions, gets the 5 second call or forces the other team to call a time out. Kynlie plays defense up close but knows how to defend without fouling. She is a player that stays active on defense even when her player doesn't have the ball - she plays help side defense well, cuts off the baseline and never stops talking to her team - to let them know where she is and where the cutters are going.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='318190' first='Mia' last='Brown'] 2024 - Victory Christian: Mia was off to a slow start but once she started going, she was hard to stop. Mia is aggressive on offense and attacks the basket, regularly. She isn't afraid to get in the mix and knows how to finish through contact. Brown was on the line multiple times and does a good job earning easy points at the line. She seemed hesitant at time when she had the open look but when she did shoot, she shot well. Defensively, Mia gets down the floor well and stopped the ball at the perimeter causing the offense to have to set up instead of getting to the rim. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
