Yasmeen Schmidt Yasmeen Schmidt 6'0" | SG Cornerstone Christian | 2026 State TX -6’0 SG (Cornerstone) 2026
Schmidt is long, and understands how to not only create her shot but get it off, well that’s athletic, and remember, long and athletic is the base. I enjoy watching her elevate and release yet what I’m enjoying, even more, is her getting to a variety of spots to drop the midrange. Yes, she can shoot the long ball but mixing it up, especially attacking off the dribble will create more problems for defenders
Kianna Henning-5’6 PG (Cornerstone) 2024
Henning gave me a good look while I was in San Antonio for Alamo City Hoops #ThanksgivingThrowdown yet she gave an even better one this time around. I knew she loved to defend and could handle the ball under pressure yet her court vision left me speechless at times because she can split defenders with blistering passes on the money. She also finds ways to get to the basket, her first step is powerful, and so are her finishes. Factor in her body control as well as using the slight HEZ, but she completes it with either hand
Natalie Easton-6’0 PF (Cornerstone) 2023
Easton did a nice job of leaving an impressive first impression at that same Alamo City Hoops event because it’s something about the hands and footwork stuff that keeps me smiling. She rebounds, on both ends of the court yet she also saw the floor, both in the set as well as while attacking the basket. She also finished strongly after contact and defended inside the paint
Kiana Kyham-5’7- G (FBCHA) 2023
Kyham always brings intensity on both ends, I saw that a few years ago and she continues to show me it wasn’t a mirage. Her on-the-ball pressure can be frustrating for the offensive player she’s guarding, she dives after loose balls and peep this, she BATTLES against taller players for rebounds. Can she drop the jumper? Yes she can, mid to long-range
Ivy McCray-5’5 CG and Imani McCray-5’5 CG (FBCHA) 2023
McCray and her twin sister are identical and their games mirror each other in so many ways that if it wasn’t for one changing her hair color, I would be lost. Well not really because they had different numbers but they also had the numbers on who they were guarding. Both are athletic and can play on the ball, baseline to baseline defense. Both showed me the midrange pull-up, as well as scoring off the dribble. Ivy did a good job “playing the passing lane while Imani showed solid court vision
Addison McClain-5’11 PF (Cypress Christian} 2024
McClain had the 3 pm game and I told her ” I’m staying to watch AM in the PM” since missed seeing her all of last season because of an injury, she came out with a vengeance and was close to a double-double before I left at halftime. She understands the game, I loved hearing her call for the ball because she’s a mismatch waiting to happen and powerful moves in the paint got her to the line at least 5 times before I left. Yes, she can finish with players literally hanging on her but I was happy to see her mobility, as well as lateral movement on defense
