She has a nice touch and scored a number of points by finishing at the rim through contact. Watkins is strong inside but also knows how to score from deep. She handles the ball well, does not get flustered under pressure and does an excellent job positioning herself for rebounds. Defensively, she is solid and forced a number of turnovers.
Lakin Gaddy Lakin Gaddy 5'4" | CG Alva | 2025 State OK 2025 – Alva: Lakin is an all around basketball player and that was evident from the moment she stepped on the court. She is the Lady Bugs floor general and she keeps her teammates engaged and involved throughout the game. She is a “team first” point guard and her court vision is impeccable but she can score at will and is hard to stop once she has the ball – she can weave in and out through the defense with ease. Gaddy is very difficult to guard even when she doesn’t have the ball because she is constantly moving, cutting, setting screens or hustling after loose balls. — there was a quarter in the game where Lakin was face guarded, aggressively and the most impressive part of that 8 minutes was her body language. She did not pout or get frustrated — She did what she had to do by pulling her defender to the corner and trusted her teammates to play.
Jaycee Kelln 2025 – Alva: Jaycee is a strong and dominant player that was nearly unstoppable inside the point. She has a soft touch around the rim and rebounds well. Kelln is a multiple effort player that grabbed a handful of offensive rebounds and garnered numerous points off of put backs. Defensively, Jaycee didn’t allow much inside and made stop after stop when the offense tried to get to the basket.
Emory Halford 2025 – Perry: Emory did a great job on the offensive end of the floor but what truly seperated her from the other players was her intense and aggressive defense. She was focused and able to lock up every player that she defended. Halford is quick and moves extremely well laterally. She turns the ball handler and cuts off the line – forcing bad passes and turnovers. She isn’t afraid to get on the floor and wrestle for loose balls. Emory is tough and she is a menace on defense!
