District Tournament play here in Kentucky has come to an end 64 districts were represented and have crowned a champion. In this article I want to recap and highlight players who performed well for their team throughout the tournament.
Jaelee Knowles
Jaelee Knowles
For the first time in program history the Lady Broncos have posted a 20+ win season and have become the 42nd District Champs. 8th grade forward Jaelee Knowles made a name for herself throughout the tournament. In the first game against Scott County she had 8 points and 7 rebounds. She carried that momentum into the championship game where she grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked 3 shots against a resilient Bryan Station squad. I was in attendance for this game and Knowles really impressed me with how tough she played in the paint. She wasn’t one of the leading scorers but her presence in the interior really made a difference for her team. Douglass is still red-hot and they look to continue their stellar play as they advance to the 11th region tourney to face Great Crossing on Monday. (Feature Image Above)
