Continue ReadingThe play of Kyla Hollier Kyla Hollier 6’2″ | SF Roosevelt | 2026 State CO was big in what came to be a comeback victory for her Roosevelt team over Air Academy at the Coliseum. The freshmen forward was aggressive on both ends of the floor, providing a spark on offense that led to a 10-0 run that gave them the lead going into the half. Kyla had 13 points and went 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. As Roosevelt gets ready for their Final Four matchup, Kyla should look to stay aggressive offensively.

It’s no surprise that Caitlin Kramer Caitlin Kramer 6’3″ | SF Air Acadamy | 2024 State CO is on a standouts list. She is a model of consistency and has been all year. Even though her Air Academy team couldn’t get the job done she still put on a show. She finished with 24 points, and 11 rebounds which included going 11/14 from the field and 2/3 from beyond the arc. Caitlin was able to show the type of player she is on the big stage with hopes of coming back next year to get some revenge.
Mason Rowland Mason Rowland 5’8″ | CG Durango | 2023 State CO was my favorite player on the day leading her Durango team to the Final Four with a monster performance of 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. She gave her team the 49-25 advantage over Canon City, nearly outscoring the opposing team by herself. Mason came ready to play going 7/12 from the field. With a game like this, you’d have to think her name will be in the conversation for 5A player of the year or at least an All-Tourney team.
This year Windsor had to look for new girls to step up if they wanted to have a chance at a state championship as their deep senior class from last season had all graduated. Brooklyn Jiireck has certainly been that for Windsor this year, The sophomore has stepped up big all year when her team needed her the most but none bigger than this Thursday at the Coliseum. While she only had 9 points and 5 rebounds both of which were team highs. She made sure her presence was felt for the entire game. Whether it was grabbing rebounds or making herself available to release some pressure for the guards she stepped up. Let’s see if she is able to keep it going against Glenwood Springs next week in the Final Four.
