She is a scoring guard who excels at getting to the basket, and has a good mid-range pull up jumper. She is always under control and is able to read the defense and change speeds to free herself up for shots. She is a good athlete and has gotten better since I watched her over the summer. One of the better guards at getting downhill and scoring in a variety of ways. She can make threes but she is best when she attacks, which she does at a high level. She had a couple games over 30 points and was around 20 points per game midway through the season. I don’t think that dropped any either. She can play either guard position at a high level with her ball-skills. Lynwood made it to the state tournament but lost in the 1st round. A game where she had 26 points.
Highlights
Kayla is teammates with Aniya during the high school season. A two time 1st team all league selection. She is your shooter to compliment her backcourt mates attacking style. She also has good footwork and gets points in the paint with it, often in creative ways. She had some big scoring games, including a 31 point effort vs Archbishop Murphy and was consistently around or above 20. She has great length for a perimeter shooter and shoots the three at a high percentage. Both are bucket getters, look out for Lynwood next season with these two.

She has good ball handling skills that allow her to either get to her spots and pull up, or catch and shoot, which she does quickly. She can rebound and get you blocked shots with her high level intensity on defense. A grab and go type player who can take it coast to coast and score. High ceiling player who plays hard. She led Bothell to a state tournament appearance this season, losing in the opening round. The type of player that will use that as a motivational tool for next season.
The 4A SPSL MVP this season, she led Sumner to the state tournament, losing to Gonzaga Prep in the round of 12. She is a relentless attacking guard with great ball-skills. She has a quick crossover dribble that she uses to get by the defense and is able to get all the way to the bucket or use her pull-up in the mid game. She was the unquestioned leader as the floor general at point guard for Sumner. She ended the season with a tough shooting night in the Dome but got them there with a 29 point performance vs Decatur. She is a future rankings riser.

If you didn’t know of her before the state tournament, you probably do now. She had some monster games of 32, 29, and 31 points in their three state games. They didn’t make it to the trophy round but she put on a scoring and shooting clinic, dropping threes and getting to the basket. Those weren’t the only post-season games where she excelled. She dropped a school record 41 in a district game. She has a variety of moves she can use when she attacks the basket, which she also does well. She plays at a high speed when getting downhill and craftiness gets her buckets.
A versatile player with great size and strength that helps her to be effective in all aspects of the game. She is tough inside and out. She has good footwork to score in the paint and can shoot the three as well. She is an aggressive player who is a great defender. She helped Lincoln to a 5th place finish at the state tournament. A team loaded with scoring and athletes. She had a big role and played it well. She provides toughness on all levels.
Tatum is the type of player you want on your team. She does the little things and does them well. She plays with intensity on defense and creates steals. She rebounds and can get you tough buckets in the paint. She is also a grab and go player who is capable of taking it herself. She is a glue type player with skills to go with it. She was a 2nd team all state tournament pick last season.

Yuna can be deadly as a spot up three point shooter, and wastes no time getting it up off the catch and shoot. She is also a grab and go type player with good enough handles to take it coast to coast. She anticipates passing lanes well and gets lots of steals, finishing with good speed on the other end. Part of the second pair of teammates here with Hawkins at Bothell.
Lauren Dex
Lauren Dex
Lauren has length she uses well to block shots and can provide some interior toughness. She wasn’t a big scorer for Bellevue but provides some intangibles with her size at 6’0. She can also step out and hit the occasional three and has a nice touch from the free throw line.
Cassie Chesnut
Cassie Chesnut
High ceiling player who will also provide an inside presence for this team. She is a decent athlete and has a good start on a skill set that provides more than just an inside presence. She can step out and hit jumpers, and has shown the ability to pull up and hit shots inside the arc. Another shot blocking athlete in the post. She also understands how to establish position in the post and can score when she gets it on the block.
