Oh Yeah! It's that time of the year baby! March Madness! Let the games begin. This week, the Glass House (MTSU Murphy Center) has been rocking ladies and gentlemen. Let me tell you, the teams that have made it this far, deserve to be here. Day 2 was electric in the Boro and the girls who took the floor, left it all out on the court.

In the first game, Bradley Central and Bearden was truly a great matchup. Bradley took the lead early, but Bearden was able to go on a run in the second half even tying it up as the seconds melted away. Led by freshman sensation [player_tooltip player_id='513233' first='Natalya' last='Hodge'], she along with senior [player_tooltip player_id='245293' first='Avery' last='Treadwell'], brought the BHS faithful back in the game. Bradley had another thing for the Lady Bulldogs. The young cubs of [player_tooltip player_id='290719' first='Harmonie' last='Ware'] and [player_tooltip player_id='513228' first='Kimora' last='Fields'] put the Lady Bearetts over the top. It came down to a last second put back that propelled the ladies from Bradley. It was a great win to kick off the day. Bradley Central downed Bearden 55-53.

Top Performers of the Game

Bradley Central

[player_tooltip player_id='513228' first='Kimora' last='Fields']: 22pts and 6 rebs

[player_tooltip player_id='290719' first='Harmonie' last='Ware']: 16pts and 7 rebs

[player_tooltip player_id='285356' first='Hannah' last='Jones']: 10pts and 4 rebs

Bearden

[player_tooltip player_id='513233' first='Natalya' last='Hodge']: 23pts

[player_tooltip player_id='245293' first='Avery' last='Treadwell']: 12 pts and 6 rebs

Game 2 of the morning session between the Blackman Lady Blaze of Murfreesboro and the Lady Cavaliers from Cookeville. It was a definitely a home environment for the Lady Blaze as their fan base showed up to support. It was a back and forth match up pretty much all game. A defensive effort from both teams for sure, but it was more about the small things that were getting done. Boxing out, converting on turnovers, free throws, these types of things were key down the stretch. For the Lady Cavs it was [player_tooltip player_id='285379' first='Cassie' last='Gallagher'] and [player_tooltip player_id='496297' first='Allie' last='Gillies'] leading the charge. These ladies had some clutch buckets down the stretch. But senior Purdue commit [player_tooltip player_id='245299' first='Emily' last='Monson'] and junior star [player_tooltip player_id='245361' first='Kaelyn' last='Flowers'], kept the Lady Blaze close. The 4th quarter was key as the Lady Cavs hit some key buckets down the stretch. Cookeville goes on to upset Blackman in a hostile environment 53-51.

Top Performers of the Game

Cookeville

[player_tooltip player_id='285379' first='Cassie' last='Gallagher']: 22 pts, 4 rebs

[player_tooltip player_id='496297' first='Allie' last='Gillies']: 14 pts, 4-9 from the arc

[player_tooltip player_id='876378' first='Isabel' last='Garcia']: 12 pts, 6 rebs. 5-5 from the field

Blackman

[player_tooltip player_id='245299' first='Emily' last='Monson']: 17 pts, 3-4 from the arc

[player_tooltip player_id='245361' first='Kaelyn' last='Flowers']: 15 pts, 4 reds

[player_tooltip player_id='245330' first='Lauren' last='Smith']: 12 pts, 6 rebs

The early afternoon game saw Hampton and Pickett County take the floor. Hampton came out the gates blazing and kept that momentum throughout the course of the game. Led by Macy Henry, she was the top scorer for club dropping 19 points. Zoey Nichols and [player_tooltip player_id='409093' first='Callie' last='Reeder'] did what they could to bring their squad back into it. Finishing the second quarter and coming out of the half hot, their deficit was just a little too much as the ladies of Hampton couldn't be stopped. The final, Hampton 78- Pickett Co.- 64.

Top Performers of the Game

Hampton

Macy Henry: 19 pts, 5 rebs

[player_tooltip player_id='810584' first='Piper' last='Helle']: 17 pts, 3 rebs

Pickett Co

Zoey Nichols: 21 pts, 7 rebs

[player_tooltip player_id='409093' first='Callie' last='Reeder']: 15 pts, 8 rebs

The mid-afternoon game saw Wayne County and Dresden go at each other. The ladies from the southern part of the state came out blazing showing all in attendance what they were abou.t They outscored Dresden each quarter, playing relentless D and converting on turnovers. Winning the war down low in the paint is what helped propel the Wayne Co. club to victory. From tip, Wayne took the lead and never looked back. They down Dresden 69-48 to advance to the next round.

Top Performers of the Game

Wayne Co.

[player_tooltip player_id='409014' first='Blair' last='Baugus']: 23 pts, 13 rebs

[player_tooltip player_id='399938' first='Lauren' last='Bryant']: 16 pts

Dresden

Lucy Curry: 14 pts, 5 rebs

Paisley Pittman: 12 pts, 5 rebs

The 4:30 matchup saw North Greene and Van Buren square off against each other. This was a great back and forth matchup with the score tied ten times. The first half started off slow, but in the second half, both clubs got hot from the field. Van Buren got back to the basics in the second half and pounded the paint. Led by [player_tooltip player_id='290994' first='Layla' last='Bouldin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='399901' first='Greta' last='Rigsby'], VB punched their ticket to the next round with a 55-45 victory over North Greene.

Top Performers of the Game

Van Buren

[player_tooltip player_id='290994' first='Layla' last='Bouldin']: 21 pts

[player_tooltip player_id='399901' first='Greta' last='Rigsby']: 13pts, 11 rebs

North Greene

Sonya Wagner: 15 pts, 4 rebs

[player_tooltip player_id='892984' first='Hannah' last='Miller']: 13 pts, 8 rebs

In the night cap, the last game of the day was between McKenzie and Peabody. The first quarter was exciting as both teams traded buckets. During the second quarter, McKenzie took the lead and took off from there. They outscored Peabody in the paint 44-18, clearly outmuscling them . It was turnovers that killed the Peabody comeback as McKenzie scored 31 pts off of them. They were crashing the boards like no other team as they had 21 second chance shots. McKenzie advances to the next round as they beat Peabody 63-44.

Top Performers of the Game

McKenzie

[player_tooltip player_id='290967' first='Savannah' last='Davis']: 21 pts, 8 rebs

[player_tooltip player_id='804697' first='Mikaela' last='Reynolds']: 12 pts, 7 rebs

Kylie Reynolds: 11 pts, 5 rebs

Peabody

[player_tooltip player_id='878037' first='Myricle' last='Johnson']: 12 pts
