It was a pleasure for me to catch some young ladies that can play somewhere at the next level and that includes some still in elementary school.
Three of the players I chose already have offers on the table, and a couple of them stand over “the magic number” which is 6’0, while the other plays as if she is, and that creates opportunities in itself but here are some of the players that caught my eye on day 2
McKayla Harjo-5’1 PG (Sasakwa) Oklahoma Hoktuce Mambas [2025]
Harjo falls into another category I hashtag which is the opposite of ” the magic number” and that’s #sizedontmatter when you can play. Her ballhandling and court vision immediately stood out and her numerous “no-looks” JUST DID IT for me but she also handled the ball coast to coast after rebounding and hitting teammates in transition. She could drop it from mid to long-range and showed she could catch and shoot” with ease
Chloe Cantrell-6’1 F (Anadarko) OVO [2023]
Cantrell is heading to SWOSU and her scoring performance showed me had me SMH. She is long and athletic which will always be the base. She scored off the dribble, her first step helped set that up yet she dropped it from deep off the top, in the set as well as in transition, and was one of the best long ball shooters on the day. She also rebounded, on both ends and defended
Alexis Parker-5’11 F(Riverside) OVO [2023]
Parker mixed it up nicely around the basket and her “hands and footwork” were very nice. I love #THROWBACK stuff because her scoring around the basket with either hand just took me back to another era, especially after she finished after contact. She also showed she could drop it from outside, as well as score off the dribble. She saw the floor, rebounded on both ends, and played solid defense, and with offers on the table, she’ll be deciding shortly
Jayla Flint-6’1 C (Creele) 4 Nations [2023]
Flint has committed to Haskell and I wrote upside after the opening game because she already has the college-ready frame and is strong around the basket. She’s also long and showed her athleticism with her timing as well as lateral movement on defense, he even stepped outside the paint to guard her man. She rebounded, on both ends, and scored on putbacks, yet her turnaround jumpers inside the paint were very nice
Kayden Tsosie-5’11 F (Gallup) Rezilient Dreams [2023]
Tsosie operated nicely in the paint all day. Her hands and footwork also get her the #THROWBACK hashtag and scoring after contact was a big plus. She also set the defender up from the wing to attack the basket and showed nice body control on her finishes. She rebounded on both ends, scored on putbacks, and had good timing to block shots
