Continue ReadingEllary Knock Ellary Knock 6’0″ | SF Dike-New Hartford | 2023 State IA definitely stood out on the court during her Dike-New Hartford teams state championship run this previous season. Knock is a lengthy forward who can play a versatile role on a team depending what is asked of her. Her basketball ability accompanied with her length really stands out and is the reason she will be suiting up for William Jewell College next season to play ball. She is a nice weapon on the floor on the offensive end while having the advantage of being able to defend any position, 1-4 on the floor. This William Jewell team is the real deal and going to be brining in a lot of length when they tip off this upcoming winter. A good problem for the Cardinals to have looking forward. Knock will come in and work hard, looking to prove right away that she can be a player everyone on her team can trust in big moments over the next few seasons.
Auburn Luvan and the Cedar Rapids Jefferson J-hawks put together a nice and successful season this past year. Luvan, who averaged 8 PPG and 1.6 APG, will take her sharp shooting ability to the next level and play for Clarke University out of Dubuque this upcoming winter, a program that just won the NAIA national championship. Other than her shooting ability Luvan does a good job of handling the ball, running the offense (when needed), and holding her own on the defensive end. She will look to make a lasting impact in the program as soon as she gets on the floor for the Pride, something that is more then do-able for someone who has a work ethic like Luvan’s. I’m sure at the NAIA level she is going to be a player who brings up the ball a decent amount, that shouldn’t be much of a change though as this is something that she is familiar with from past experiences growing up.
Another William Jewell Commit out of the senior class with a good amount of length accompanied with some real basketball talent is Ella Bockenstedt Ella Bockenstedt 6’0″ | PF Marion | 2023 State IA . Bockenstedt is a 6’0 power forward who played the 3-5 positions on the high school floor but will mostly stay to the forward positions on the college floor. Her skill speaks for itself. She has fantastic footwork in the post and near the hoop with the ability to use either hand to get her team a bucket. Coming into her senior season the only thing she wasn’t great at was shooting the ball from deep but that all changed after some off-season work. She came back this year with the ability to score at will in the post while also being able to shoot and spread the floor on a consistent basis, something that was big for her overall game. I’m not sure how she is going to be used on the college floor but this program is getting another player that has basketball IQ, size, and some real talent. Everything that a college coach looks for in a player today honestly.
Jenna Hopp Jenna Hopp 5’11” | SG Glenwood | 2023 State IA once again this season showed why she was one of the best overall players on the court at all teams throughout the state of Iowa. She put on a show on both sides of the floor on a regular basis while trying to help her team to victory. Hopp will be playing for the South Dakota Jackrabbits as a shooting guard next season, something I’m sure she has dreamed of for a long time, that will soon become reality. The Jackrabbits are getting a baller. A player who can impact the game with her skill and craftiness. She seems to play with a chip on her shoulder, helping motivate her when she is on the floor most nights. She will show this same intense-ness at the college level with hopes of continuing where she left off in her high-school career, absolutely dominate.
