Auburn Luvan and the Cedar Rapids Jefferson J-hawks put together a nice and successful season this past year. Luvan, who averaged 8 PPG and 1.6 APG, will take her sharp shooting ability to the next level and play for Clarke University out of Dubuque this upcoming winter, a program that just won the NAIA national championship. Other than her shooting ability Luvan does a good job of handling the ball, running the offense (when needed), and holding her own on the defensive end. She will look to make a lasting impact in the program as soon as she gets on the floor for the Pride, something that is more then do-able for someone who has a work ethic like Luvan’s. I’m sure at the NAIA level she is going to be a player who brings up the ball a decent amount, that shouldn’t be much of a change though as this is something that she is familiar with from past experiences growing up.

Luvan is one of those kids you want to guard as soon as she gets off the bus. She displays excellent form on her three-point shot and a quick release, and moves well without the ball to get open. She handles it well and is fast with it in her possession. She makes up for being shorter than most opponents on defense by being aggressive, physical and beating them to spots. She’ll be an excellent addition at Clarke University next season.

, being a dynamic play maker and main contributor for her team. Luvan is a combo guard who tends to play the point position but with her shooting ability she could be moved to the shooting guard position. When watching her game what really jumps off the paper is how well she can shoot the ball, wether it be in transition, during an offensive set, or off the catch/dribble. She only has to see one make go through the hoop and it’ll be a long day for the defense. This season she will start her senior year for the Cedar Rapids – Jefferson Jayhawks. She will be asked to be a consistent shooter, as she is known to be, along with having the job to bring up the ball at times. With herself and

on the court, they have the luxury of either player running as the point guard and constructing the offense. With the addition of their new coach I could see him running a system in which they push the pace as much as possible, trying to beat opponents by outworking them from the tip but we will have to see.
