Ana Young, Pendleton County, W, 5-8, Sr. – State tournament debuts can sometimes be an eye-opening, and unpleasant experience for first-time visitors to the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. Or, not. Ana Young you feel into the or not category. For sure. No doubt about it. 100%. When the big lights went on, she went to work. As soon as the ball tipped in the ear, she scored, and scored and scored. You really had a hard time if you kept track. Points came from the arc, points came in the paint, really points came from just about anywhere for the Wildcats. By the time everything was said and done, she stuffed the stat sheet with 43 points on 17-30 shooting, to go along with 4 boards, a steal and an assist.
Macy Neely, Cameron, G, 5-7, Jr. – When we last saw Macy Neely at the Charleston Civic Center, she was enjoying having just hit the state championship-winning shot for the Dragons. Choose whatever adjective you wish, it would also be appropriate for her first game back at the scene of her greatest triumph. Ashlynn Van Tassell provided the rock, and Macy Neely brought the roll .. all of the rolls. She really jammed out.
