16U Standouts from Battle in the Big Friendly Day 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>17 16U teams composed of players from many states including Wyoming hit the four courts of Solid Rock gymnasium. Knocking out a pair of games today, and with a two more tomorrow, there were many players who had impact days. Take a look a some of those standouts.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='572961' first='Hannah' last='Bond'], 6'1", PF/C, Locust Grove (OK), Banshees 2025, 2026 - Bond was among the most dominant bigs on the floor. Very fast with a solid build, Bond has a mature post game and is very strong with moves involving a power dribble or two. In the open court off the catch, she either scores or scores and is fouled. Period. She gets up on rebounds and defends in the half court with strength and quickness. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jacquelind Forrest</strong>, 5'8", SG, Poudre (CO), [program_tooltip program_id='712718' first='NOCO' last='Triple Threat'] 2025, 2025 - Athletic and fast, what really caught my eye was a mature play on the right wing. Catching a sideline transition pass up the floor, she put the ball on the floor selling to a hustling defender that she was going to go to the hole. After a quick couple of dribbles she backed back out, kept her dribble and sold that she was waiting for trailing teammates. After a couple moments, and the defender relaxing a bit, she exploded to the hole and scored a contested layup. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Nariah Johnson</strong>, 5'3", PG, Hebron (TX), DC Queens Carrolton 2025, 2026 - She took awhile to get in a flow but by game two Johnson found it. Among the most consistent perimeter shooting threats, Johnson is close to money when she catches and shoots behind the arc in flow. She is more than a shooter though. Off the bounce she is unafraid of contact to get that finish. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Laykin Moore, 5'10", PF, Mountain Home (AR), Yanders Law 2025 - Moore showed off perhaps the best turnaround jumper of any player in division. With her strong frame, hops, and strong handles she showed plenty of game in the half court. In transition, Moore was T-O-U-G-H! Hustle, finishing speed, right and left hand scoring ability. Defensively, Moore showed herself to be a very solid ability to keep the ball in front of her. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
