Darrington is a name you’ll be hearing a lot this summer and next season. She is really tough overall. A strong rebounder, she can grab them over just about anyone. She is also strong defensively and times her blocks well. She finishes some hard shots and she uses her length well to finish at the rim. Darrington also elevates really well to get her shot off over defenders. She’s a walking double-double and her stock continues to rise.

Rodgers recently committed to play at Bellarmine University, but she still has a big senior season ahead of her as well. However, there’s many reasons one of the D-I colleges near her hometown wanted her to play for them. Rodgers has demonstrated an ability to score at all 3 levels and to finish tough baskets in big moments. She can single-handedly take over games. She’s got good height, length, and athleticism as well. Rodgers can really make a lot happen on both ends of the floor and should have a huge senior year.
Like Rodgers, Thornsbury has also already committed to play at a Division-I program after her senior year. She’s got so much talent, but one thing that always stands out about her game is her toughness. You will not find many high school players that are tougher than her. She can finish hard shots and she can take a ton of contact in the process. Thornsbury is also a solid and versatile defender. She can really guard any position well. She’s a strong rebounder and can do a ton offensively as well. On top of being able to score at all 3 levels, she is also a willing and impressive passer.
Hamilton does not get nearly as much recognition as she probably deserves for what she brings to the floor. For starters, she is very tough. She can handle a lot of physicality and she can really put the ball in the basket. Hamilton makes strong drives to the hoop and can score from deep. She is a very crafty player as well. She can create well off of the dribble for both herself and for her teammates. Hamilton is a true stat stuffer that brings a lot to the floor every time she plays.
Talk about stepping up when your team needs you the most: insert Anna Drakeford. After Mercer County lost their returning star to a knee injury, Drakeford stepped up and led the Titans to the state tournament, a feat many doubted they could do with D-I commit, Timberlynn Yeast Timberlynn Yeast 5’8″ | SF Mercer County | 2023 State KY , playing. Drakeford has all of the point guard and shooting guard skills that you could want along with extreme toughness. I mean, she was coming off a serious knee injury herself going into this season. She can do it all and she’s just as tough defensively as she is offensively. I can guarantee you Drakeford is just going to continue opening more and more eyes because she is extremely talented.
