Lanasia Dubois Lanasia Dubois 5'4" | CG Beloit Memorial | 2025 State WI
Throughout Dubois’ sophomore season, she put up some ridiculous lines, including a 37-point double-double on the road against Madison La Follette. She’s a 5-5 guard with a knack for putting the ball in the basket and could pop in AAU because of how well she plays with pace.
Grace Zortman Grace Zortman 5'6" | CG Homestead | 2025 State WI
The Homestead guard is a player who helps their team with all the little things that help their group succeed. She’s a 5-6 kid that is one of the best offensive rebounders I’ve seen at her size, and she loves to attack the basket on the offensive end. You’ll likely see her dive after loose balls and make plenty of hustle plays whenever you see her play.
I can’t describe what it is about Kay’s shot, but every time she shoots the ball, I believe it’s going in the basket. Kay does an excellent job moving without the ball and balances her threat to shoot from the 3-point line with the ability to utilize a pump fake and get by her defenders. When her shot isn’t falling, defenses still respect her ability to space the floor.
Taya Fernandez Taya Fernandez 5'6" | CG Edgewood (Madison) | 2024 State WI
There isn’t a better example of what a coach wants in a lead guard than Taya Fernandez. Yes, she can pass, shoot, dribble, and play through pressure, but she brings all the intangibles a coach would want a lead guard to have. Fernandez is an excellent communicator on the floor. She’s a positive teammate and sees what will happen a few seconds before it occurs. Fernandez is a skilled player with a high basketball IQ for the lead guard spot.
Mariah Pates
Last spring, Pates was one of my favorite kids during the April live period. She’s an athletic 6-2 forward that covers a lot of ground and blocks or alters her fair share of shots at the rim. Pates plays with a lot of emotion and is one of the few kids I’ve seen in the Midwest at the five to energize her team with her hustle on both ends of the floor.
Coryn Fromm
The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah wing will be one of the more intriguing kids at Center Court. Playing at a small school, you won’t see many elite defensive groups, but I love Fromm’s game. She’s a physical 5-9 wing with a smooth and effortless shot and shoots it confidently. Although she won’t be the quickest kid there, she’ll power through the defender’s shoulders to get to the rim.
Lauren Capstran Lauren Capstran 5'7" | CG Franklin | 2024 State WI
At both Franklin and Impact, Capstran fits perfectly. She’s a 5-9 wing that can shoot the lights out and do some things off the dribble. She’s as unselfish as anyone I’ve seen and does thankless tasks on the floor. Capstran moves well without the ball, digs in on defense, and swings the ball quickly with a purpose.
Aubrey Leonard Aubrey Leonard 5'8" | PG Laconia | 2025 State WI
Of all the kids who played at the state tournament, Leonard might’ve been the one I was most impressed with leaving Green Bay. What she did against Aquinas’ constant pressure for 36 minutes was outstanding. Leonard controlled that game from start to finish and even hit some free throws down the stretch to be sure it didn’t become a game late. I’m eager to see how she continues to play during AAU, more than most kids in her class.
Gianna Guarascio Gianna Guarascio 5'9" | SG Ashwaubenon | 2025 WI
I haven’t seen the Ashwaubenon product in nearly nine months now, but there’s plenty that I remember about her. For one, she reads the game well on both ends. She isn’t an uber-athlete, but Gurascio sees the game better than most in her class and can beat her defensive assignments to the spot. I would not be surprised if she caught fire from the 3-point line in a game or two.
Bond is an unheralded member of Kettle Moraine’s state title this season, but I don’t think I could overstate her value to that group. After losing some important seniors the past spring, Bond stepped up and was one of the best ball handlers KM had, and they trusted her in big moments to make good decisions with the ball at the Resch Center.
Bauer is another small school kid. However, she elevated her Lourdes team to new heights this season. Bauer made some big shots against solid D5 competition and made a significant leap from her freshman to sophomore year statistically and as a leader in a winning program. I would not be surprised to see Bauer continue her momentum this summer.
If you’re looking for talent that’s still under the radar, Dixon could be the kid for you. She’s a physical 5-9 wing that spaces the floor and has the strength to bring defensive versatility to her team. She plays hard every second she’s on the floor, and her shot is something that coaches could notice quickly, especially if she gets into a rhythm.
Addison Doyle Addison Doyle 5'5" | CG Brookfield East | 2025 WI
Most of the time, guards who can handle and score get most of the notoriety, and that was the case at Brookfield East, and they deserved it. However, Doyle is quickly becoming one of my favorite kids to watch because it’s pure chaos whenever she’s on the court in the best way possible. She gets after it defensively, dives after loose balls, rebounds well for her size, plays physically despite her size, and does it with a smile. Doyle makes winning plays all the time.
Marti Rebman Marti Rebman 5'8" | CG Edgerton | 2026 State WI
Before the prospect camp in Stoughton, it’d been a while since I’d seen Rebman play, and she gave me a good reminder of who she is as a player. The Edgerton guard is physical, skilled, and pragmatic. Nothing gets her out of sorts, but she does an excellent job getting the rim, making good passes, and keeping the ball moving. She’s one of the more physical guards in the state in her class.
