Carolina Border Clash: Final Observations

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Girls Hoops took in a day of action at the Carolina Border Clash in Florence this past weekend. The event wasn't very big at all but was NCAA Certified for the ladies. Let's take a look at some Final Observations from the time we were in the gym here at the Pearl Moore Center. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>One Final Run: </em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='331893' first='MacKenzie' last='Massey']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='174560' first='Sailor' last='Rearden']</strong> both members of the 2023 Palmetto State decided to get one more run in before moving off to college in the fall. Middleton who attends Cross HS went over 1,000 career points last year late in the season for the Lady Trojans. Lauren was able to get the ball to the cup at times today while absorbing some contact on the way. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='185417' first='Tatiana' last='Williamson']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='496272' first='Natalie' last='Pitts']</strong> both run with Upward Stars Pee Dee 2024. Williamson attends Trinity Collegiate while Pitts plays at Lee Central HS in Bishopville. Williamson was slashing to the basket all day long while Pitts plays extremely active around the cup. Moses a pass first point guard really does a nice job of seeing the floor. Aiyanna has good quickness to race by defenders up the floor. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Thomas is a spot up shooter who really likes to go to work from the corners. Madison will drop the 3-ball at will and does a nice job of receiving the ball in the pocket. She has a good and quick shot release. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gray is another ball-handler at times on this Palmetto Stampede 2026 squad. She really likes to shake and bake past defenders with a quick crossover move to the basket. Hemingway was the bright spot today for the short-handed Cougars in a loss to ABC Lightning 2025. Hemingway connected on 5 three-pointers from downtown on her way to scoring 18 points. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
