Very impressed by the play of Madison in both of the games that I was able to watch. She has excellent length at the guard that allows her to score in multiple ways. In the open court she made versatile and athletic plays that often resulted in transition buckets. In the half court set she knocked down several pull up jumpers. She has verbally committed to Coker University.

Championship teams – such as last season’s 5A Division 2 champion Berkeley team – have players that many pundits will label as household names. They will also have players that may not get as many headlines but are still worthy of their praise. Thomas is one of those for the Stags. Thomas sported Berkeley colors on 28 occasions last season and averaged 7.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 steals per contest. Thomas stands at 5-foot-11 but thrives as a two guard in large part because of her proficiency from behind the 3-point line. She is poised to conclude her high school playing days with an exclamation point.

Madison has grown a bit in size its looks like since last season. Thomas is a perimeter shooter who likes to dial in behind the 3-point line. She really gives the Lady Stags an outside scoring threat. Madison really does a nice job of receiving the ball in the pocket and playing as a catch-shoot player.
