Daytona State Basketball Camp: Top Performing Forwards.

Thomas had the full skillset on display at the Daytona State Girls . Thomas is one of those rare players who can play the point, play on the wing, play at the freethrow line, or move to post and play with her back to the basket. She puts a lot of stress on a defense with her ability to pass and score. Thomas also stood out in the transition game with her ability to handle the ball, get to the rim and pass to the open player on the wing. Her productivity was very good: rebounds, toughness, and scoring in the paint. She was definitely a standout. She made shots in the midrange area, had great cuts to the basket, and also stood out in transaction. Sheals seemed got to the rim at will throughout the camp and just showcased a lot of versatility. She also shot the midrange well, ran the floor and scored well in transition. She came in as an unknown player to many and left as a player to keep an eye on this upcoming high school season. Karanja was solid all camp and did a lot of nice things from the forward position. She showed a lot of versatility playing at the 2 and primarily the 3 at this particular camp. Gantt did little of everything. She scored in transition on the wing and also took some coast to coast, showing speed that is well known on the flag football circuit. Gantt knocked down the three point shot and midrange shots and played with a lot of confidence. She also did a good job of getting to open spots and scoring off of cuts to the basket.
