She’s adjusted well to the increased competition in terms of girls her size. Physicality and the bigger girls haven’t been a a problem. She’s receiving the ball well and grabs her boards. There’s still a lot of improvement to be done as her body fills out and she becomes stronger. However, she looks on a strong track to mirror her cousin Riley Fitzwater here in a few years. High praise, indeed.
Allie Ellyson, Gilmer County, 5-6, PG, Jr. – Ellyson has elevated her play as she’s consistently played with the Dragons’ 2024 group. Her shot and ballhandling have improved as she’s taken over the point guard position. Ellyson thrives on her game creating chaos. Once she makes a move, everything else on the court falls into place. After the defense starts moving, she starts making her moves in those shifts and adjustments. She opens the court up for everyone as she penetrates. If you need a guard capable of creating and then thriving in chaos, check out Ellyson.
Ashlyn Riley Ashlyn Riley 5'8" | SF Lincoln | 2024 State WV , Lincoln, 5-9, SG, Sr. – Riley owns a strong shot that is easily the best part of her game. Her stroke is smooth and effortless. She elevates well off the dribble, releases her shot at the height of her jump, and there are very few times her shot doesn’t look like it is going in. There is no wasted effort. She also rebounds really well for her size.
Kenly Rogers Kenly Rogers 5'7" | CG East Fairmont | 2024 State WV , East Fairmont, 5-7, CG, Sr. – Rogers doesn’t stand out as the biggest kid on the floor, nor the flashiest. What she does for you though is extremely valuable. She always makes the right play on the basketball court. She never turns the ball over. I would like to see her get a bit stronger, but there’s still time for her to lift before college.
Madison Clark, Wyoming East, W, 5-8, Sr. – Clark is a strong kid with a high basketball IQ. She stuffs a stat box whenever she’s on the floor. You always now you are getting great defense and plenty of rebounds, steals, points and blocks from her. On top of her impact, she has a championship mentality and just knows how to win.
