This is the largest girls basketball exposure event in the nation featuring 2,776 teams from across the globe, 1,487 college coaches from every collegiate level, 84 courts, and 9,000 players in total. I was able to attend this historic event and the experience was one of a kind to say the least. Check out my top shooters that let it fly at the Roses23.
Highlights
Emilea Preece Emilea Preece 6'1" | C Paintsville | 2024 State KY might just be the best shooting big in Kentucky in my opinion. Preece lit it up from deep up against the Michigan Mystics S40 team knocking down multiple three-pointers in the game. She showed she can put the ball on the floor and hit from the mid-range displaying a nice dribble pull-up jump shot. Preece is a serious scoring threat on offense and her ability to score from the perimeter and the low post made her a tough assignment for defenders.
Kylie Downey Kylie Downey 5'7" | PG North Bullitt | 2026 State KY is already well-known as a “volume shooter” and as one of the top 2026 prospects in the state. At the Run4Roses she lived up to her reputation dropping 16 points with 4 made 3’s in the AM game on Friday. But Downey wasn’t done yet, she went off for 24 points the next day with 6 made 3’s helping her team win a close one against Shooters United 16U 52-50.
Emaree Gober Emaree Gober 5'5" | PG Butler | 2024 State KY impressed me the most out of my “top shooters” from the Roses23. Against Buckeye Blast State Blast Phoenix Gober looked very confident and poised running the point for Kentucky Ice White 2024. She ran the offense well controlling the pace of the game and making sure everyone got a touch. But when she had an open look or her team needed points she delivered every time. Gober finished the game with several made 3’s including three daggers in the first half and one that was from way downtown. I see a big senior coming from her this upcoming season for Butler.
Ryleigh Feltner
Ryleigh Feltner
After putting her long range shooting ability on display at the Roses Rising Stars, helping the Alabama Southern Starz win the 2029 platinum division championship. The “phenom” Ryleigh Feltner played up with the Arctic Rush 2027 team for the Run4Roses. In the game against COH Elite she played hard as soon as she stepped on the court. I will say for such a young player she looked composed out there on the “big stage”. She missed her first 2 attempts from outside but the next open look she got she capitalized hitting a deep three-pointer from the wing that instantly boosted her confidence. Feltner was active on defense as well coming up with a “big time” block on a much taller player.
Alyssa Allen
Alyssa Allen
Alyssa Allen played great on day one against a scrappy Virginia Elite team that pressed the entire game. She never looked rattled and handled the pressure well when bringing the ball up the court. Allen knocked down several three-pointers in the game and did a good job distributing the ball as well. I see her having a big senior year for Martin County.
