Kendall Ford Kendall Ford 5'8" | CG Glenda Dawson | 2026 TX -5’7 G (Pearland Dawson)
Ford used her athleticism on both ends and her “on the ball” pressure immediately stood out as she understands how to read the court and play the passing lane. She also handled the ball after the steal, saw the floor, and made goods decisions but her powerful first step in the set helped her attack the basket strongly and she finished after contact
Slyiah Johnson Slyiah Johnson 5'11" | SG Hitchocok | 2026 State TX -5’10 SG (Hitchcock)
Johnson showed me several times that she can drop the long ball since I’ve been watching her the past season or two but she showed me even more during the camp and one of those things was how well she saw the floor bot in the set as well as in transition. She understands how to take advantage of the mismatch and posted up smaller guards and her deceptive first step enabled her to get to the rim and finish strongly after contact
Madison Crawford Madison Crawford 5'6" | PG Mansfield Legacy | 2026 State TX -5’7 CG (Mansfield Legacy)
Crawford is fearless, she’s grabs to cover because a picture is worth a thousand words and I often use her initials, MC because I can always count on her to drop the MIC. Even more important is her ability to drop dimes and her no-look passes are one of the reasons yet so are the ones she threw off balance yet she threads the needle so well that her teammates get easy looks. She also has an explosive first step to get to the basket and score, her mid to long-range jumper is consistent and she battles taller players for rebounds, again check the cover
Peyton Cooks Peyton Cooks PG Manvel | 2026 State TX – 5’5 G (Manvel)
Cooks was hot off the stove as I caught her during the preliminaries and watched her athletic ability to blow by defenders as well as her body control on her finishes grabbed my attention. She applied heat defensively, quick hands enabled her to pick some pockets and she too showed she could play the passing lane and make good decisions afterward
Mattie Holmes-5’5 SG (Westbrook)
Holmes has been in quite a few of my clever statements like you don’t need to be a detective to know what you’re looking at, Sherlock, get it? Nevertheless, I also call her RED, not just because of her hair but her ability to get hot and drain it from, well everywhere. I think I was more impressed with her improved “catch and shoot” while being defended as well as scoring off the dribble, but that 3 ball…
Kimora Carroll Kimora Carroll 5'6" | CG Hitchcock | 2026 State TX -5’8 CG (Hitchcock)
Carroll has been singing tunes for years, she reminded me I first wrote about her years ago and she was RIGHT. I didn’t realize how young she was yet the article is from 2018 so what, 4th grade heading to 5th. Her poise under pressure was already there yet she understands how to take games over in the blink of an eye as well as get hers in the flow. Mid to long-range, off the dribble, not to leave out solid court vision, were on display
