This camp usually does a good job of bringing in a crowd but this year the camp was sold out, while there were over 90+ participates in the gym competing throughout the day. Below I am going to highlight some of the players that stood out the most to myself while I was there and walking around the gym. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Katelyn Odem – PG – 2024 – Mequon, Wisconsin
With having so much talent in the gym at one moment sometimes it can become hard to stand out but that wasn’t the case for Katelyn Odem. Odem displayed that she is a complete point guard. Her change of speed, the tempo she plays the game with coming down the floor, and the way she leads the others around her screams college point guard. While only seeing her compete for a few games throughout the day, it’s safe to say that I would feel comfortable with giving her the ball and letting her decide what her team runs on offense. She makes the right choices in the right moments and never tries to over-examine what she is seeing in front of her. It’ll be fun to see what she can do at the college level after this winter.
Adalyn Long Adalyn Long 5'9" | SG Washington | 2026 State IA – PG/SG – 2026 – Washington, Iowa
Adalyn Long Adalyn Long 5'9" | SG Washington | 2026 State IA has always been a gifted player in my eyes. A competitor that understands the game of basketball and has some really nice skill with the ball in her hands when she is coming down the floor but this weekend Long really proved to me that she can play consistently. Whenever she had an open look for a jump shot, no matter where it was on the floor, it had a chance of going in. When her defenders would overplay her shot then she would pump fake and get to the middle of the lane for an easier look. When examining the game of basketball you can’t deny consistency. Long has consistency. Doesn’t matter where, when, or against who. She is going to be a player to watch this winter at Washington high school.
Reagan Loewe – PG/SG – 2025 – Huxley, Iowa
Talking about consistent players is one thing when you have a camp full of such great talent but being a consistent player AND game changer is a different story. That’s exactly what Reagan Loewe was on Sunday at this Elite Camp. Loewe displayed for everyone watching that she is a player to know going into her junior year at Ballard high school in Iowa. An athlete that can score at all three levels while seeming to make the right decision every-time she has the ball in her possession. I’m not sure where Loewe will end up to play college ball but I’m sure it will be somewhere at the D2 level.
Lilyan Sizemore – PG – 2027 – Gibson City, Illinois
After seeing Lilyan Sizemore for a few hours I think it is safe to say that if her game keeps developing over the next few years, she is going to be a PROBLEM for others teams at the high school level. Sizemore displays fundamentals with a mix of skill and rhythm in everything she does. When she had the ball in her hands it was difficult for opponents to stay in front of her as she was coming down the court. It’s still early for her but like I said, if she continues to work and expand her game, while possibly growing a few inches, she is going to be a lot to handle for any opponent she’ll come across.
Baylee Rogers – CG/SF – 2024 – Olathe, Kansas
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Baylee Rogers was the most athletic combo guard that I saw compete at this camp. Rogers has good size and knows how to use it but other than that, she is extremely athletic and displays it on every play. Her burst to the rim from a stand still, the movement she makes happen off of the ball, and the production she has while shooting so little are all very impressive. College players move different on the floor than high school players for a number of reasons and Rogers displays that with her abilities. She had a very successful day and I’m sure that is going to continue into her senior season at Olathe East high school this year.
