There hasn’t been an update for this class in over 2 years and that is going to cause a lot of changes in this process. Usually with senior classes in high school, at this point I would have 150-200 kids listed, who have competed over their past 4 years on the court. In this specific update we will have right around a total of 175, with the Top 50 being ranked.
Somethings I would like everyone to understand when reading these rankings:
- With having no ranking changes in over 2 years, there is a lot that has happened. Some players found other passions, some committed to colleges for other athletics, some grew in the game of basketball and absolutely dominate it right now, it doesn’t matter why but what does matter is that the Ranking the player may have had prior to this update, should be ignored if their new ranking is being seen as a negative, from their point of view. It’s an opinion and opinions change every day.
- If you aren’t ranked in the Top 50, don’t worry about your position rank. When a player is WL, their position rank does not truly reflect their positional ranking in my eyes. That number is just how the system sees the players being added in the past.
- If a player isn’t ranked or listed, that you think should be, there is a good change that I simply did not see that individual compete or see them put up big numbers on the high school floor these past few seasons. It happens. There is another Rankings Update coming out in December, just shoot me a message and let me know about the player, we can go from there.
- I am one person and I am human. I really refuse to rank anyone if I can’t see them play. Wether it be in person OR on film. So I would advise everyone to film their children’s contests because it matters to get noticed in the long run and not just by me but by college recruiters as well.
- Only the Top 50 are ranked because that is all I am comfortable ranking at this time. It would have been unfair to others if I just randomly put individuals in a spot without knowing their true ability. To know that ability, I need to see the player compete several times, not just on a highlight mixtape, once.
Below in this article I will be highlighting our Top 5 players in the 2024 class from the state of Nebraska. Each player is already college committed or has a plethora of offers waiting for them to choose from at the end of the day. Each player is also someone that I think will go out onto the college floor and make a difference right from the jump.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Olivia Loomis-Goltl Olivia Loomis-Goltl 5’10” | PG Bridgeport | 2024 State NE has put together a high school career to remember and at the end of this season, she will take her talents to the college level. Loomis is a 5’10-5’11 Point Guard, that is a handful to anyone trying to guard her on the basketball court. Loomis-Gotl has superior size and speed compared to most around her at her position and that fairs well for her in most 1V1 matchups. In a 2024 class that is stacked with D1 talent and commits, to make the Top 5 list is a big deal. She maybe college committed already but if she wants to keep this Top 5 Ranking throughout the high school season, she is going to have to continue her efficient production in all facets of the game. Something that is more than do-able for a player with Loomis-Golt’s skill-level.
Inia Jones Inia Jones 5’7″ | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE was impressive when I saw her compete this summer. She was dishing out assists at a high rate after creating off of the dribble, she was scoring in bunches from all three levels consistently, and she was rebounding 2/3X more then the opponent across from her. Jones has recently committed to D1-Bradly University after fielding a ton of offers these past few years. I think if Jones learn’s their system and uses her natural gifts to beat her defenders, there is no way that she doesn’t see the floor at some rate in the near future. It’s very tough to see a college floor now a days but I think Jones is dedicated enough to do whatever it takes to run the show there at Bradley but we will see.
The most well rounded Post in the 2024 Class, throughout the state of Nebraska is Doneelah Washington Doneelah Washington 6’1″ | C Lincoln Northeast | 2024 State NE . Washington stands at around 6’1-6’2 and is very skilled with her back to the basket. She has the ability to score going over either shoulder, with either hand and is efficient while doing so. Most of the time her team gets her the ball in favorable positions and she usually makes the defense pay because of that. Another thing that Washington is great at is doing her work early and beating her opponents to their spots. She likes to rim-run down the floor at an impressive rate, burying her defender under the basket for a simple look early on in possessions. Washington has a range of offers from all divisions going into her senior season. I’m not sure where she will end up but she has a solid base to become a productive player at the college level one day, no matter where that is.
A player that was in the Top 10 of this class ever since she was a Freshman was McKenna Murphy McKenna Murphy 5’11” | SG Elkhart North | 2024 State NE but over the past few years, her recruitment and game on the court has taken off to new heights. Murphy is a 5’11 SG, that is the definition of well-rounded. She can handle, facilitate, score it from all three levels, rebound over most others, defender multiple positions, and most importantly-she understands the strategic side of the game at a fast pace. When you combined all this stuff you get a MM-HM D1 player and that is what Murphy is. Whoever gets her is going to get a big-time playmaker, that is one hell of a teammate and just wants the best for the others around her, when she is out there competing.
& the #1 player out of the 2024 class in the State of Nebraska is Britt Prince Britt Prince 5’11” | PG Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE . Prince is a 5’11 Point Guard, that currently has over 30 D1 offers to compete at the next level. Prince is the real deal. The leading scorer in the state last season, Prince can do it all from the PG position. She is a team player that is always looking to find an open cutter, a three level scorer that can do any skill-move asked of her while attacking her opponent, a defender with reach on most other Point Guards she goes up against, and a hustle player-someone who will always be the first person on the ground for a loose ball. As of most recent, Prince has narrowed down her recruitment list to her Top 12 schools. All schools being big name, Division-1 programs with successful histories. No matter where she ends up, I’m sure she is going to produce at a consistent rate and I can’t wait to see it all unfold but for now, Prince still has a senior season to worry about.
